Product Description The Cuisinart automatic 12-cup coffee maker uses the same brewing system found in commercial coffeemakers so you can be assured of getting a truly satisfying cup of coffee. With its 12-cup capacity, you can bet the other 11 cups are going to be equally tasty. Easy to clean Gold Filter with easy swing-out basket Brew Pause Color - Black with brushed stainless-steel accents
Amazon.com Review Strikingly retro in brushed stainless-steel with black-plastic accents, this 12-cup coffeemaker includes Cuisinart's best brewing technology and premium features for ease and flexibility. The digital clock/timer is programmable for automatically brewing "wake-up" coffee at a selected time and for turning off the warming plate up to four hours in advance. Removing the glass carafe from the warming plate automatically pauses the brewing process for a quick pour, and the warming plate's temperature can be adjusted. For maximum flavor, the machine can be set to brew one to four 5-ounce cups or five to twelve cups, and it includes a charcoal water filter. For convenience, a permanent Gold Tone filter eliminates messy paper filters and an indicator-light shows when decalcification is needed. The coffeemaker measures 14-1/4 inches high, 8 inches wide, and 10-3/4 inches deep (including carafe handle) and carries a three-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

Fantastic coffee maker! January 2, 2009 Jessica Jeffrey (MI, USA) I previously had a Cuisinart Grind and Brew. For the money it was great, but when the grinder broke, I had to pitch the whole unit. I decided than to "simplify" my coffee maker to one without a grinder, or other parts that can break. I have been using my Cuisinart for over 2 months and love every cup!!! The coffee is hot when it comes out and stays hot for the two hour's i might keep it on. It is vey easy to use, and the BEST PART is the fact that the "stainless steel" looks stainless, but does not get the finger prints and water marks like my old coffee maker. I would highly recommend this to any one looking for that new coffee maker.
I love my cuisinart! January 1, 2009 Devin Phatak (San Jose, CA) I've had this coffee maker for about 5 or so years and it has never failed me. I think the Cuisinart uses high quality materials and only the hot plate has begun to 'peel' in one spot (the teflon coating) probably due to the way I cleaned it at one point. For the $100 or so, it is a great value. I've seen the newer competing Krups model in person and I find it to be nice, but the materials/look aren't as high of a quality, and I wonder about the long term durability of things like the push button release for the lid. Anyhow, my sister got one and she loves it too!
Great coffee, great design December 31, 2008 sealy77 (Michigan, USA) Bought this over the holidays, very impressed with all aspects of the design, and the coffee is great too. It took a while to get the exact measurement right as it always does with a new coffee machine, but once I'd done that, we were very impressed. Plus I think it looks great too and goes very well with our kitchen! My only complaint is that sometimes it dribbles a little bit, but I think a little bit of spillage is very normal with these types of coffee makers. Overall, a great product and I'm very pleased with it. Off now to make some coffee!
Piece of Junk so far!- Fixed it! December 31, 2008 Paul (Salem, Ore USA) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I received the DCC 1200 last week. It stopped after the water was halfway done. I sent it back and received another one yesterday. SAME PROBLEM! I called Cuisinart and they told me it is also defective. Cuisinart then told me to tell Amazon to stop sending me defective units! Let's hope the third time's a charm. Otherwise they can take this thing and shove it! Edit: I feel completely stupid. You have to have the top on the carafe in order for it to push up the button on the coffee dispenser. This is for the brew pause function. When pulled out the button release stopping the drip. I'm coffee maker stupid :-) Anyone having the same problem make sure your cover is on. I'll call Cuisinart and have them make note of it to save them some unneeded returns. Can I change my rating up from one star? I don't see anyway to do so.
I like it December 30, 2008 R. Myers (Gilbert, AZ United States) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Pros: Looks great, makes good coffee, you can adjust the temperature of the plate, programmable, relatively sturdy pot. Cons: This is minor, BUT the machine is tall and when you open the lid, you really can't do it under standard overhead cabinets. So, filling the machine with water is a little difficult with a large pitcher or the pot. There is condensation left inside the maker for a long time after the coffee is made. Both of these situations can be fixed quickly with a towel. Overall: I'd buy it again and have recommended it to friends, because the cons are so minor. Compared to our last coffee pot (the Hamilton Beach one where there's no pot, you just stick your cup under), this is so much easier to clean and looks a lot nicer. Not to mention much better tasting coffee!
