Product Description 2 Speed, 3 Cup, Ergo Food Chopper Plus Pulse, Rubber Base Doubles As Storage Lid, 1 Hand Operation.
Amazon.com Review This electric food chopper accomplishes a food processor's principal function of chopping and mincing without having to haul out the big machine. It's just 8 inches high and 4-3/4 inches in diameter, and its 3-cup bowl is ample for many chores in a family household and most chores in a one or two-person household. At 150 watts, the motor is powerful enough to chop or mince vegetables, fruits, herbs, cheese, nuts, chocolate, cooked meats, and bread. The power head has a soft grip for easy one-handed use. The rugged, plastic bowl; its slip-resistant base, which doubles as the bowl's lid for storing food; and the stainless-steel blade are all dishwasher-safe. --Fred Brack

The good, the bad and the, well, so-so. January 2, 2009 Katherine A. Leyva (Tucson, AZ USA) I went out to the store the day before Thanksgivig in desire (not really need) of a small chopper to make this parsley and lemon thing to stuff my turkey. The store I went to had this unit. I bought it on a whim and yes, it did the job, but it doesn't do ALL jobs. The herb and citrus mixture chopped great. However, when I went to make chili and wanted to chop onions and bell peppers, all I got was MUSH. It was usable mush, but not chopped in little diced pieces like I like. Then, today, I made basil pesto - it worked "OK". Actually, today's shortcoming may have been because the parmigiano regiano I used was old and really hard. The poor chopper had trouble chopping it up. Then I opened a new package and the softer cheese grated up fabulously. When I finished the pesto, I had two issues: 1. I put the lid on to let the pesto rest - the lid did not fit completely (it is not "airtight" as stated by others.) and 2.) although I "gently" cleaned the top motor unit by hand, the aroma of basil and garlic remains. What if I wanted to use this for chopping something for a non-savory or sweet dish? Black and Decker has something here but, they need to improve it by putting some sort of washable barrier between the bowl and the the motor.
A MUST HAVE! December 31, 2008 debby-t (Arkansas) This little sucker does a GREAT job! I got me one and absolutely LOVED it. So, for Christmas, I got my parents and father-in-law one. Haven't heard their response, yet. I have a big Cuisinart and don't use it like I should because it's so inconvenient dragging it out and putting it back up. The Black and Decker is SO light and easy to use, it's amazing. I keep it on my cabinet shelf, along with my spices, sugar, and flour, because it's so small and fits there perfectly. It also cleans up easily. Even through the holidays, I didn't have to drag out that big ole Cuisinart. I highly recommend this product!
Finally! December 28, 2008 James B. Fruin I've spent many years and lots of money trying to find a GOOD chopper for my wife's cooking chores. Everyone I bought she gave away or put out with the garbage until this one. She loves the job it does and how simple it is to use and clean.
Great Small Chopper December 23, 2008 E.W. Rick (El Paso, TX) I have used this food chopper several times now, and I like the way it works. I have used it to chop ginger root, garlic, onions, peppers, and cherry tomatoes. I like the way I can control the amount of chopping such as in the case of the cherry tomatoes since I did not want to make them into a sauce but just chopped; this product gave me good control. The other food items were finely chopped, and the recipes came out great: talapia in lemon sauce, lemony salmon, and orange chicken. Spooning the chopped food out of the container was very easy, and the clean up was likewise. I appreciate the reviews that helped me select this item for our kitchen. Thanks.
Gets the job done December 22, 2008 SweetStaceen (South Boston, MA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Got this chopper as a gift because I do a lot of cooking with garlic, herbs, onions, etc. that require chopping. For me, it does what I need it to do. I have a really small kitchen & this machine is wicked easy to store & clean. It minces things like herbs & garlic perfectly, and if you pulse the button on,off,on,off it chops pretty darn well. I use it ALL the time, pretty much whenever I'm cooking or baking. I don't know how other reviewers are having problems cleaning this machine- you wash the blade, bowl, & base with your dishes & wipe down the top with a damp sponge or paper towel. Not a problem for me. Overall, it does a pretty good job mincing & chopping- (it's under $30, what do you really expect?). If you're looking for a perfect square chop every time it might not be the chopper for you, but it works well & I haven't had a technical problem with it since I've had it (about 6 months). **I find that its great for making pureed soups. In batches, just give the soup a few quick pulses & you're left with a great thick, hearty mixture that's not too thick or thin.**
