Amazon.com Review This stand mixer has a detachable power head so it doubles as a hand mixer, providing flexibility in the kitchen. With 225 watts of power, the mixer handles all cooking chores, including the stiffest cookie dough. It has six speeds, and when the going gets tough there's a power-burst button. Accompanying the mixer is a 4-quart glass bowl. On the stand, the bowl can be shifted from side to side with a lever, ensuring thorough mixing and providing space for easily adding ingredients. As a hand mixer, the power head has a bowl-rest feature to prevent dripping on the counter. In addition to traditional beaters, the mixer comes with dough hooks. It measures 9 inches wide, 13-1/2 inches high, and 12-1/2 inches deep. --Fred Brack

Crappy - better to save money for another one January 1, 2008 J. Tran (New York) Hamilton Beach Hand and Stand Mixer - 64695 I got this because I wanted a stand mixer for all my baking. However, after just three uses, the motor blew and a burnt smell was wafting through the kitchen. Even when it was working, it did not get to the very bottom and I had to constantly scrape the sides to get the mix down. The rotating feature did not do very well. The time that it blew, I was mixing a double batch of sugar cookies. It could not handle even that soft mix, luckily I never tried to make bread with it.... I checked the site and it's hard to even get it serviced because you need the receipt and I did not have that still since it's been over 6 months. I think I will stay away from Hamilton Beach products in the future.
Very well designed August 13, 2007 Malcolm I. Shaw (San Diego, CA USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
After a surprising amount of product research for a mixer I purchased this one and I must say after reading tons of reviews on mixers of all things this one clearly beat the rest. I must say this mixer has met all expectations so far, and the stand feature is an excellent bonus. Other reviews seemed concerned that the mixers don't reach the bottom of the bowl, I don't really see how they could be much lower as my guess is they are only a quarter or half inch from the bottom. If you were mixing something thick for a long time the hands free feature would far outweigh the occaional scoop with a rubber spatula. The motor has a nice strong healthy sound, and the product itself has a nice solid feel. I'm a guy just starting to play around with cooking, and I think buying this was a good first step in outfitting a quality food prep kitchen.
Hamilton Beach standing blender January 22, 2007 M. Hoffmann We like the Hamilton Beach blender. The bowl spins, but very slow. I also wish it had the paddle for the dough hooks instead of what was with this blender. However, we have used it frequently and it is a time saver.
Cant beat for the money... January 19, 2007 Robert Varney 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I bought this unit for my mother for Christmas and she loved it. She used it the same day to make homemade cookies that turned out great. You simply cannot beat it for this price, especially with the great features it has. 5 stars for exellence.
Okay Blender January 9, 2007 A. DeZarn (Colorado Springs, CO) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
The blender had to be shipped back to Hamilton Beach for repairs. We had the blender expire while making cookies. This was only the third time we had used the blender. The previous complaints were avoid similar models and go with a more powerful blender such as the 64695. I would have preferred just purchasing a kitchenaid to start with. Tech support is good - we are awaiting the replacement model.
