 The Best Ice Cream Scoop Ever! December 8, 2008

Throw out all the other ice creams scoops you own and buy one of these. You'll be glad you did. You'll be impressed with how heavy it is. I'd definitely call it commercial-grade. The handle is comfortable and ergonomic, so you can scoop all afternoon at the 4th of July picnic if you want. The metal has some sort of magic coating that ice cream doesn't stick to, so you get perfect "scoop-age." One word of advice - if you put it in the dishwasher the harsh detergents will eat away at the miracle metal coating (the same goes for your non-stick cookware). I recommend washing it by hand so it will last forever. This makes a terrific gift!!

Wow, I can't believe the fervor over finding the perfect ice cream scoop! It almost compares to the search for a better mousetrap.
That said, this scoop is a good one. It is made very strongly and is well balanced to make scooping your ice cream easier, even when it's frozen hard. The thickness of the metal in the scoop part helps to melt the ice cream as you scoop into it. Heating it a bit in hot water would help as well. The handle is easy to hold and attached solidly to the scoop so it should not break. I've had this for 6 months and am very pleased with it's performance. I've washed it in the dishwasher and had no problems with the coating coming off. I recommend it.

This ice cream scoop is nothing like any other scoop I have or have used. It has a good amount of weight on the head of the scoop that seems to help with going into the ice cream. The handle fits perfectly in the hand and is made of a solid material that does seem like it will last even with a lot of pushing on it. What I like about it is that the front edge of the scoop cuts into the ice cream very easily and turns nice shaped scoops of ice cream. The way it handles makes it a breeze to serve even hard ice cream. I wish I would have bought this thing a long time ago.

Yes, it scoops ice cream. No, it doesn't magically make the ice cream fall out with no effort.
