Safe for use in the microwave, conventional oven, and dishwasher, these rugged, basic white bowls serve so many cooking, baking, and serving needs, they should be legally required in all kitchens. Use them for mixing and rising bread doughs; warming and serving soups, stews, vegetables, pastas, and chili; mixing, chilling, and serving salads and fruits; passing out chips, pretzels, and dips--even ice cubes--at parties; whipping eggs for breakfast; and chilling Jell-O and puddings. After they've done all their chores, they can go directly into the dishwasher before bedtime, when they'll conveniently nest inside one another in the cupboard.
