Easy to use & fast May 15, 2008 I love this ice cream maker because we leave the bowl in our deep freeze 24/7 so it's always ready to use and doesn't take up any cabinet space. It couldn't be easier to make delicious ice cream. At parties, the guests love to watch it swirl!
kitchenaid ice cream maker May 14, 2008 J. Kyser (Durango,Colo) I just used my new ice crem maker for my kitchenaid mixer. It works really well, my only complaint was trying to empty the sorbet from the bowl. I could have used an extra pair of hands to either hold the bowl or to empty it. I did overcome this by laying the bowl sideways on a case of water bottles while I emptied it into another bowl for freezing. I'm looking forward to making ice cream and other frozen treats this summer!
icey YUM May 4, 2008 Michelle B. Kunkel (my messy house) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love my KitchenAid ice cream maker. I especially love making sorbets. I read the reviews before I bought mine and knew it would work for me. I keep the bowl in the freezer, mine is very cold, and use it as the instructions say. I have been cosistently happy with the performance of the bowl. Well worth it...... finding the recipe that I love is a little harder.
Fun but not productive April 23, 2008 Donald R. Purifoy 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
You have to freeze the bowl. Mix the ingridients first. And then after about 18 to 20 hours, you can make a small amount of icecream. I like the cheap bucket mixer in the garage better.
Worked great, but didn't last long... April 18, 2008 Classic Girl (McMurdo, Antarctica) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this a bit over a year ago and loved it. It was so much easier than making the brine for the freezing process. My only disappointment is that mine broke in less than a year. I always kept the bowl in the freezer and my guess is that something bumped one of the tabs on the bowl and cracked it. I didn't find out until I was making a batch and blue liquid slowly started appearing at the base of the bowl. As the bowl thawed so that I could wash it the freezing liquid kept running out more and more. The receipt and box are long gone (I've never had an issue with a Kitchen Aid product before), but I'm not going to get another. Instead I'm opting for something that doesn't have a weak point like this bowl does. Maybe a rework of the design would help as well, after all it was a very awkward shape to fit in the freezer.
