Absolutely love this mixer- compared to an old 1960's vintage mixmaster, this mixer is easy to use, easy to clean, thoroughly mixes all ingredients, even heavy cookie dough. Makes baking much easier.
The only thing to comment on is the way the product was delivered/shipped by Amazon. The box was not packaged well, and was easily cut/scraped and a hole in box when received. Only suggestion is to actually pack the original box inside a shipping plain brown box.

The Kitchen Aid Artisan 5-QT mixer is everything we have been led to expect. Hey guys, I use it more then my wife does! It is wonderful for our home bread making and pastry output, as well as conveniently providing the quick means for making large batches of dog biscuits for our three large canines. While a 12-cup unit combined with a tilt head mechanism may have been more desirable to allow larger batch productivity, the 9-cup unit is generally fine for our daily needs. Thus, this Kitchen Aid model used along with a good grain milling machine is an awesome combo for any family's kitchen in these unsure times. At least, this is the route we have taken. Jim.

I LOVE THIS MACHINE SO MUCH AND LOOK FORWARD TO USING IT FOR THE PAST 2 YEARS. VERY HEAVY,SO HEAVY I PUT FELT ON THE BOTTOM TO MAKE IT EASIER TO SLIDE IN/OUT WHEN I NEED TO USE. I HAVE IT IN CREAM/OFF WHITE VERY PRETTY. I HAVE THE BLENDER BY KITHCHENAID TOO. WORTH EVERY PENNY. MY COUSIN GOT THE STAND MIXER MACHINE REFURBED ON AMAZON AND LOVES IT. I purchased this mixer in May of 2008 and have been using it almost weekly since then. I have never been an avid baker but after making a cake completely from scratch for my husband's birthday using my old hand mixer I realized that it was worthless. I decided to take the plunge and purchase this mixer and have absolutely no regrets. Now I bake something new on a weekly basis and LOVE making bread, rolls, cakes, etc. from scratch. The dough hook does all the work for you and makes bread making enjoyable and it doesn't take nearly as long. I highly recommend this product and the quality and durability makes it worth the cost!
