1 out of 5 stars broken within 6 months   March 1, 2008

I used it less than 10 times (to make cakes only). Not sure whehter the engine burnt out because it didn't smell like that. Very disappointed.I will get a better one next time.

5 out of 5 stars Small but mighty   January 7, 2008

This tiny hand mixer did yoeman's duty during the Christmas holidays with the numerous cakes, pies, and cookies I had to bake. This small mixer might fool you because it is so small, but it handled all tyoes of batter, even the really heavy type. I own a Kitchen Aid but found myself pulling this hand mixer out because it was so much easier and lighter. A wonderful product!

1 out of 5 stars You get what you pay for..   December 24, 2007

Well I was amazed this mixer lasted as long as it did. The motor finally gave its last breath just days after the 365th one. Could it have lasted longer? No. Should it have? Probably not. Cheaply made products like these are cheap for a reason. I just thought I would get one that, would miraculously have quality that was not seen in the low price. No such luck, and I learned a lesson. I think I will bite the bullet and pay for a KitchenAid; hoping the quality will be better.

1 out of 5 stars too fast, makes a mess   November 26, 2007

I am now searching for a new mixer. I bought this in the supermarket. It was cheap, but I have spent more time cleaning food off my walls, floor, counter and clothes (and hair!) with this one. The lowest speed is so fast, it doesn't really mix, it more spits food everywhere. what a mistake. It's a shame, too, because the shape was very comfortable!

However, I think I'll spend the money on a good Kitchen Aid.

2 out of 5 stars More junk from China!   November 23, 2007

Unless price is crucial, better to get a stand mixer. Granted that they are much more expensive, but they don't hinder your maneuverability.
I had had a good stand mixer and foolishly got rid of it. Now I have ordered a new one.
This hand mixer was my attempt to avoid getting the other kind. I think if one were determined to have a hand mixer it might be preferable to get a simple single blade type for that type of activity.
The main complaints I have about this hand mixer are:

1. There are six speeds. All of them seem to be nearly the same, namely too fast. For certain types of mixings, either dry or liquid, one needs at least one fairly slow speed. The manufacturer should consider reducing the number of speed down to 3 or 4: slow, medium, (medium fast), fast. There are six speeds indicated on this mixer, and one can't tell the difference between speed one and speed six. So it's like there's only one speed for six speed indication marks. How pointless!
2. The eject button doesn't work easily. When one's hands are busy, and when attempting to eject, with this mixer you have to hold it with one hand and press the eject button with the other. You have to press it at various places on the button before being able to get the blades to pop out. As a result you end up messing it up with whatever you were mixing in the endeavor to merely eject the blade.

For the price, despite its deficiencies, it's a reasonable purchase, but for long range usefulness it doesn't measure up.
