A good little blender May 19, 2008 T. Underhill (Hillsboro, OR) I recieved this for a birthday gift. It's a pretty useful gadget to have in your kitchen. In additon to making chunky stuff smooth, you can make decent Ice cream shakes and fluffy omeletes. The working end of the blender dose come off so you can put it in the diswasher so clean up is pretty good. The motor is pretty powerfull. Overall the product feels and handles like a good tool.
Works well until it falls apart May 10, 2008 S. Targanyan (Irvine, CA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
At first this product seems fine. I used it to puree home cooked food into baby food for my son since he has a hard time eating solids. This was the best way to puree his food since it was quick and easy to clean. Since it splits in half, you can throw it in the dish washer and never worry. The problem is that it will not last very long. We have gone through 3 of these type of hand blenders (including this particular model) and most of the other manufacturers that use this split design will have the flaw of falling apart. The problem that occurs is that the gears that the two halves meet are made out of plastic. Any type of resistance caused by foods will eventually cause the plastic to wear and eventually fall apart. Each of my hand blenders lasted ~ 8 months. I did some research and found that Waring carried industrial hand blenders using a one piece design so I purchased one. So far I haven't had any problems. The only inconvenience is cleaning the unit since I can't put the entire unit in the dishwasher.
smart stick review April 2, 2008 M. Keller Excellent product. Does many of the things my food processor did, but with way less cleanup. Too bad they can't figure out how to child proof it...
Great for smoothies March 23, 2008 C. Terry (Park City, UT) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've only used this item a few times, but I'm very impressed with it. Our blender broke and this is what I bought to replace it. Have you ever made a milk shake or a smoothie in the blender. The blades spin around and mix for a bit, but usually all of the stuff you're trying to blend ends up above the blades and they just spin around doing nothing. So you jam a wooden spoon in there and try and knock all the stuff down. After awhile you finally get everything mixed up. Well, this hand held Cusinart blender kicks the old blender's butt. In seconds, it turned my yogurt, frozen blue berries, sugar, and milk into a killer drink. Wham!, done. And clean up was a breeze. The part that does the work comes away and a quick wash off and it's done. And another great thing, is it hardly takes up any space. Buy this thing and throw your blender out.
Awesome product! March 3, 2008 Jennifer A. (Minnesota, USA) I love this hand blender! I use it every morning to make my husband and myself a protein drink for breakfast. It makes it so easy, just blends it right up! It's great.
