terrible customer service July 25, 2008 R. Clark 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
First, this is an excellent coffee maker, best we've ever had. Makes super hot great tasting coffee every time and keeps it hot for as long as you want. We've had the machine for just over a year and the filter basket broke where there's a spring that allows you to take out the pot during brewing (a feature we never use). I tried to order a replacement, but they don't offer it from Cuisinart and when I tried to contact them I get absolutely no response. As much as I like the machine, I will never purchase from Cuisinart again.
Love this coffee pot!! June 29, 2008 Mom 2 Mitzi I did alot of research before I bought this coffee pot. It had such good reviews so I thought we would try it and it is everything I had hoped it would be! The coffee is so nice and HOT, I have never had a coffee pot like this before! A 5 star for sure!!!
Love, love, love this coffeemaker! June 2, 2008 Kathy M. Zazzeron (Alameda, Ca USA) Rec'd this coffeemaker in a timely manner and it was just as described. Can't share enough about how much we love it. The coffee is easy to prepare and it comes out piping hot just as we enjoy it. Features are great and directions are easy to follow. We definitely recommend it!
Poor design May 24, 2008 Morimoto (Greenwich, CT, United States) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
The water indicator is indeed difficult to read - but not as difficult to read as the lcd display, which is tiny and unlit - you need to get face to face with it. The water resevoir has a relatively small and awkwardly shaped opening - care is required when filling to avoid spillage. The control knob is impossible to turn if your hands are wet. The filter ripped soon after I purchased it. You have to take extra care to keep the internal plastic cone clean, or you will get grind overflow when you make the full 14 cups - this has happened to me twice - a mess. Brewing is relatively slow. The lid does not hinge, but can only be removed. The auto-off system turns off way too soon for me and is not adjustable. The unit is overpriced. The coffee it makes is fine - I'm no expert, and the unit is attractive.
Good coffee, though a little slow. April 18, 2008 Eric Washburn This model replaced an excellent Braun, which died after many years of faithful service. Since I use a Brita filter system for all my drinking water, I don't use the Cuisinart filter. Compared to the Braun, the Cuisinart is slower, even when using the 1-4 cup setting, but it does make good coffee. As the manual indicates, even though there is a brew pause feature, it's better to wait until all the coffee has brewed if you want uniform taste. The inside gauge which some have complained about is slightly inconvenient, so I pour my filtered water into a carafe which is marked in two-ounce increments. As most people know, the claimed cup capacity for all coffeemakers is overstated; I find that it takes about 11 ounces of water to brew an average mug-sized cup.
