Product Description
Never before has roating garlic been so easy!
There have been numerous studies with over 2000 published papers that document the health promoting properties of eating garlic. It boosts the immune system possibly increasing resistance to allergies, colds, anemia, and asthma. Garlic may help blood platelets from sticking together so the body is able to break up blood clots. There have been clinical studies indicating garlic may reduce bad cholesterol levels and boost memory. Many nutritional supplements include garlic for an assortment of other possible benefits. On top off that, garlic tastes great with pasta, meat, and vegetables. Here's a great way to help increase garlic intake with maximum flavor and speed - The Roasted Garlic Express.

The best advantages of the "Roasted Garlic Express" are the savings in time and energy. It only takes 27 minutes to roast up to 3 bulbs of garlic while it takes an hour or longer in your conventional oven. The amount of energy used is minimal.

If I didn't have this, I probably wouldn't roast garlic very often...because of how long it takes and the electricity it costs (and heat generated) to roast garlic in the oven-- especially if I'm just cooking on the stovetop. I previously owned a cheap "old-school" terracotta roaster-- it was a pain to clean as the oil would soak into the terracotta, and one day in the oven it got too hot and cracked.

Another reviewer wrote that the garlic wasn't done at the end of the time-- the instructions say that some garlic bulbs might take longer than others-- so if you like it really soft, you just hit the big red button again, and then open it up 5 mins. later. Not a big deal.

Let's face it, we don't have time to cook a gourmet meal every night. Roasted garlic makes any old meal a little more special. Oh- and did I mention that since you don't have to peel the garlic, your hands don't get all smelly? Now, if I just remember to put the garlic in this before I start a simple spaghetti meal, for example, it's done and ready to be added to the sauce before the rest of the meal. Yum.

I had wanted to buy one of these garlic roasters for some time however, I had to wait until my husband and I were holidaying in Honolulu before I located the Tago Roastered Garlic Express. My husband didn't think we would use it very much; however, I still went ahead and purchased it.

Upon arriving home in Australia, I discovered that my garlic roaster wouldn't work (even with my step-down electrical transformer). I emailed Tagco and explained the problem to them. They replied straight away and immediately shipped me a replacement garlic roaster. It is not often that a Company impresses me but Tagco were wonderful.

When my new garlic roaster arrived it worked perfectly. And surprise, surprise, my husband thought that the garlic I roasted for him was the best he had ever tasted. I believe I will use the garlic roaster quite often as it's easy to operate, the roasting time is quick and the flavour of the garlic is fantastic. A big bonus is that the garlic roaster doesn't take long to clean.

Overall, a great little kitchen gadget from an extremely helpful Company.

This garlic roaster added wonderful flavor to my cooking and introduced us to new healthy, flavorful snacks like the homemade brushetta or simple roasted garlic on crackers. We also bought one for friends as a gift and they love it.

SUMMARY: Long story short - this countertop baker is worth every penny - not only efficient and reliable, but versatile, too.
HISTORY: I have baked garlic in a hot oven with OK results. Only OK. Mine was never as tasty as that in restaurants, so I made an exception to my "multipurpose" requirement for kitchen appliances and bought Roasted Garlic Express.
TESTIMONY: For baking a single bulb of garlic, it's far more economical to plug this in than to rev up an entire oven. And for some reason regular ovens take twice as long to do the job. If the garlic is more than a few days old, I usually add about 5 minutes for best results.
TIP: Do Not Skimp on the olive oil. The instructions called for much more than I would have used if left to my own devices. Follow the instructions for best results. Duh.
FLAW: My sole criticism is a design flaw: the little handle (for removing the hot tray at the end of the cycle) should have a storage place right on the appliance when the garlic is roasting. Of course for storage we stash it inside the roaster.
RECOMMENDATION: If you want to eat roasted garlic frequently, this appliance is totally worth having.

If roasting a large head of garlic it takes longer than time specified and, if roasting more than one head, they must be very small or they won't fit...
