    5 out of 5 stars Just what I needed   September 10, 2008

This blender is just right. My husband and I make smoothies five days a week for breakfast. The blender can not handle chopping ice but that is fine with my husband and i becasue we like our smoothies thicker and chopped ice waters the smoothies down. Instead we just put come ice cubes in it and give the mug a good shake or two. Come out great.

5 out of 5 stars perfect for the job! easy smoothies & frappachinos..yum!!   June 30, 2008

if what you want is no muss, no fuss, and the perfect tool for the job, then this is the smoothie and frappachino maker for you. i have used mine at least 2x daily for months now. the only issue is that the gasket has come loose a couple of times, but hardly a major issue since it so simple to gently press it into place again that it only seems worthy of mentioning to dispell the notion that this is a major defect or design flaw. i've had zero leaks and zero mishaps. i love the speed and ease with which it chews through ice and frozen fruit, making yummy drinks. the huge plus is that this really isn't noisy at all. this is so much better than the magic bullet, so if you're on the fence, give it a try.

    5 out of 5 stars Fantastic!!   May 5, 2008

I bought this blender a few years ago to make smoothies with on a daily basis. I've used it nearly every day since. It's held up beautifully. The only thing that's worn out since buying it was the rubber ring that fits inside the blade cap. Even without the rubber seal, I've never had any problems with messy leaks. This blender is quick and easy and you can grab the final product and go. You don't have to deal with using a big blender for making food for just one. It's less to clean up too. It's small so it fits conveniently on the countertop. I can't praise this product enough. I love it and couldn't live without it.

    1 out of 5 stars A bad choice   April 21, 2008

After trying another personal blender and having some minor issues, I thought I'd try a new brand, and picked this one up. The end assessment: as cheap as it is, it's not worth your money. I highly recommend you pick a different brand.

    Pros:
    1) When I made shakes in it with crushed ice, it crushed the ice fairly well. (But see #1 below)

    Cons:

    1) Flimsy materials: I have only had this blender for *2 months,* and already the plastic cup is cracking from the pressure of blending ice in it. These small hairline cracks are now seeping beads of liquid out of them. Soon they'll get larger and the blender will be completely unusable. A blender that can't handle ice shouldn't be called a blender.

    2) Heavy: The base is surprisingly heavy and wide in circumference; it would not make for a light and easy travel blender if you are looking for something to take on trips.

    3) Stupidly designed: The design is just nonsensical. Though not described in the product description or in most of these reviews, the way this product works is that you have to fill the blender's mug as you would fill any normal cup, then put on the top (which contains the blender wheel), and then TURN THE MUG UPSIDE DOWN to attach it to the blender. Naturally, this can cause any number of mishaps--if the seal isn't quite tight enough, you and the blender are going to get covered in whatever you're blending. Or, it could just fall off if you turn it over and it's not tight enough. Plus, after blending, when you turn the cup back upright to actually open it and drink your concoction, a great majority of your mix sticks to the wheel on the top. This means you lose a good portion of your drink.

    4) Can't add in ingredients once you close it: Finally, this design doesn't allow you to easily or non-messily add extra ingredients in midway. So for example, if you want to blend ice and liquid first, and then add fruit or whatever, it's a problem in a way it wouldn't be for normally upright blenders.
