5 out of 5 stars Great blender for 8+ years   June 2, 2007

I received this blender as a wedding gift and I must say it was one of my favorites. It blends perfectly every time and has had a lot of use over the years. At this point, the chopping blade is getting a little worn. I am going to purchase the replacement ice chopping blade for just $9.99, well worth it if you ask me.

4 out of 5 stars Hard working blender   July 30, 2006

I have had several blenders over the years. This Oster has lasted the longest, I'd say I've had it for probably 4+ years and it is only starting to show a little wear.
However along with that I would also say that this blender does sometimes have a hard time chewing up chunks of ice. It's best to put in smaller pieces of ice rather than larger, to make the blending process go more smoothly.
I think for the work that this blender does, it compares to the expensive commercial style blenders for relatively little money.
I gave 4 stars only because sometimes I wish it had more power to grind up the ice!

5 out of 5 stars Everything you need in a blender.   June 24, 2006

You could get the bright red, blue, or chrome version of this blender if you want to impress...the kids? Your cats? You could get the kind with a spout that's impossible to clean. You COULD pay five times as much for the "As Seen On TV" deal that turns everything into either a Margarita or spongy jello.

Personally, I reccommend that if you want to make everything a blender makes, from perfect milkshakes to....well, yes, margaritas, not pay a lot for it, and have it work right every time, I'd go for this one.

It's a no-brainer to use, stuff doesn't stick to the sides (except peanut butter milkshakes, we did find out that peanut butter milkshakes stick to the sides, but also to the sofa and the cat) or leave a lump or ice cream in whapping about in the mixture forever and ever.

Cleaning it up is so easy I don't even MIND doing it. It comes apart and goes into the dishwasher in about 14 seconds and comes out clean.

So far, it's been used every day for two months without a glitch. Best 27 bucks I ever spent.
