I like the size of this cup for my hemp protein shakes prior to my workouts.
A must for bodybuilders June 7, 2007 Greg Bosworth (Dawsonville, GA USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
The 12oz containers are just too small to make a proper 50 gram protein shake. These however, are just right. Here's how I do it: 1) fill the container with about 1 cup of water or milk 2) fill the container with 2 scoops of whey protien(~50grams) 3) add other powders like BCAAs, L-Glutamine, GABA, etc. 4) add 1/3 cup of pulverized (I use the tribest grider unit) grape nuts and or quaker oats. 5) fill the rest of the container to the top with frozen fruit. 6) add just a little water over the fruit to ease the blending. 7) screw on the mixing attachment and then blend the fruit a bit, but not totally. 8) remove the unit from the blender and shake vigorously for about 10 seconds(helps remove anything stuck to the inside of the cup). 9) remove the blending cap and fill the remaining space with water or milk. 10) screw the blending unit back on, and let it blend until the motor stops(about 1-3 minutes usually). The motor stopping is an overheat failsafe, a good design. So that's it. It takes me about 5 minutes to make a delicious, fresh fruit smoothie containing: 50 grams of whey protien 50-75 grams of low GI carbs + all the goodies from the fruit and supplements If the cup was slightly larger it would be perfect, but it's pretty great as it is.
