Some sandwiches are just better toasted, and the Breville SG820XL Maxi 2-in-1 panini press is an indoor grill that allows all sandwiches to be toasted.

With its flat cooking plates and adjustable depth, the Breville SG820XL press does everything from reheating grilled cheese to creating café-quality focaccia sandwiches.

A floating top plate and ten depth settings let you tailor use to your preference, recipe, or ingredients, and create consistent results whether sandwiches are wafer-thin or packed full.

Product Description: Breville SG820XL Maxi 2-in-1 Panini Press

The adjustable toast height control allows you to make open style melts, crispy toasted snacks and to reheat pizza. Set it to “melt” to create delicious open tuna melts or set it to “open” for crispy snacks. You can also use it to toast and melt pita wraps, panini, and focaccia sandwiches. The heavy duty metal arms conceal the wiring, making this design durable, safe, and strong.

A resent Breville SG820XL review

“After reading many reviews for several brands (Krups, Hamilton Beach, DeLonghi, Cuisinart, etc) I decided on the Breville. I gave it to my husband for Christmas and he LOVES it. It is sturdy, stands up well on it’s own, the cord wraps around on the back and the hole on the plug-in makes it easy to unplug.

The paninis have been great, but it also did a fabulous job searing Ahi Tuna and makes lovely omlettes. We can’t wait to try it on other fish and meats. The adjustable height for the top heating plate is great for different thicknesses of bread and fish. I agree with the reviewer (a former rest. cook/chef) about the ridges, the flat surface make the whole exterior crispy and the cheese melts evenly, and the tuna cooked evenly. Who needs grill marks anyway? I hope it lasts forever!”

The possibilities of The Breville SG820XL Panini Press are endless, as you can experiment with any number of combinations of meats and cheeses and vegetables to create the perfect panini. Or you can focus on old favorites like chicken parm panini, French dip panini, grilled cheese panini, ham and cheese panini, and dozens of others.

I purchased my Breville TG670XL two years ago. Couple of months ago I’ve noticed that the coating on the top and bottom plates started to come off. I took a very good care of the grill, never used anything abrasive on the surface. I took the grill to a store that represents Breville appliances and specializes in the repairs. Instead of replacement of the top and bottom plates I was suggested to buy a new grill and also was told that the store can not get the parts because that model and parts to that model were discontinued. I was not satisfied with the answer and send an email to Breville Customer Support.
To make the story short, after writing back and forth to the Customer support and taking the grill twice to the store…
The final solution and the recommendation from the Customer service and the store was to buy a new grill. Is that how they view the quality of their product? They should add a line on the box that this appliance is guarantied for a year and after a year we recommend to you to purchase a new one.
Do I really want to buy another Breville appliance? O! NO!
Never again! I will NEVER recommend to anyone any of the Breville
    appliances.

    A. Gotsulsky, I’m sorry to here about your experience with Breville. While not knowing all the details, In your defense, I would think Breville could have at least offered some sort of discount toward a new one.

What many companies, don’t fully grasp is the power and influence that a single customers opinion can have on the purchase decision of anther.

In Breville’s defense, They are know as a top tier brand. they are in the same company as kitchenaid, cuisinart and delonghi, and all these brands are know for their quality and reputation toward customer service. As for Breville, we have plenty of rave reviews on our site for their products and service.

With every company, no matter what they sell, there will always be hiccups from time to time, Its very possible that you just spoke to the wrong person from the company.

If the appliance model and its parts were no longer being made after you have used it for two years, then there really isn’t a whole lot they can do to service that model, and many small appliance sonly have a 30 day to a year warranty.

A discount coupon would have been the smart option on their part.

I’m curious, can you cook other grill items on this appliance? Example, could one make slim ground beef hamburgers? I have a tyson in-door grill that claims it’s great for steaks and hamburgers, but they come out burnt to crap on the outside and still pink in the inside.

Got something to say?
