“After reading many reviews for several brands (Krups, Hamilton Beach, DeLonghi, Cuisinart, etc) I decided on the Breville. I gave it to my husband for Christmas and he LOVES it. It is sturdy, stands up well on it’s own, the cord wraps around on the back and the hole on the plug-in makes it easy to unplug.
The paninis have been great, but it also did a fabulous job searing Ahi Tuna and makes lovely omlettes. We can’t wait to try it on other fish and meats. The adjustable height for the top heating plate is great for different thicknesses of bread and fish. I agree with the reviewer (a former rest. cook/chef) about the ridges, the flat surface make the whole exterior crispy and the cheese melts evenly, and the tuna cooked evenly. Who needs grill marks anyway? I hope it lasts forever!”
