Product Description Cuisinart blends style with the latest in technology to make boiling water quicker and easier than ever. The elegant brushed stainless steel finish makes it the perfect addition to any table. Great for making tea, hot chocolate, oatmeal, instant soups and noodles, it will quickly become part of your daily routine. In just minutes, this contemporary cordless kettle brings up to 1.75-quarts of water to the boiling point then turns itself off. And it frees up stovetop space for making your meal essentials like pancakes or oatmeal. You'll wonder how you lived without it!
Amazon.com Review This attractive brushed stainless-steel electric kettle boils up to 1-3/4 quarts of water for tea, coffee, or instant oatmeal and soups. The 1,500-watt power base heats water quickly and, for safety, automatically shuts off when it reaches a boil. The cordless kettle conveniently lifts off the base to travel to the breakfast table, desk, or wherever tea is being served and has a cool bottom so it can rest on any surface. Unlike many other electric kettles, the heating element on this one is concealed within the jug. This design prevents calcium build-up, which can alter the flavor of hot water. The kettle also has a button that opens the lid with a single touch for easy refilling and an easy-to-read water level indicator. Other perks on this jug include a large, stay-cool handle and a wide lip for pouring. Cuisinart covers this cordless electric jug kettle under a 3-year warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde

Warning! September 24, 2008 John S. (NJ) I've never had the urge to write a review of anything before but this product has been a nightmare for us. We are on our third replacement from Cuisinart in less than 2 years and this fourth unit just died on us. Each time it was something different that broke or quit. Cuisinart is a high-end brand but the design & quality of this product are both terrible. Caveat emptor.
I'll never buy another Cuisinart product September 22, 2008 Clayton Carney (Albuquerque, NM USA) This WAS a great kettle, until it broke after only 10 months. The sensors are malfunctioning now. It constantly turns on and off and takes forever to heat the water. No wonder Amazon sells a REMANUFACTURED version of this kettle. This is only the latest in a string of Cuisinart product failures. Their engineering and quality control, once rock solid, is now terrible. I'm through with Cuisinart!
Excellent kettle (I bought 2!) August 30, 2008 shopdiva (Albuquerque, NM USA) I'm sorry to hear that so many folks have had trouble with this kettle. My experience has been basically perfect. In 2003, I bought one for my mother and another for myself and they're both still going strong with no problems at all. I enjoy looking at the sleek design in my kitchen and it heats water faster than any kettle I've ever tried. After 5 years of great performance, I would definitely buy another if anything ever does go wrong. One suggestion, I have very hard water so I only put filtered water into the kettle and this has pretty much eliminated the mineral deposits that I did experience with previous kettles (manual and electric).
Perfect July 6, 2008 M. Fernando (Chicago, IL) Sorry to hear that so many people are having problems with this. We've had it for almost two years, not a single problem.
watch out for the clasp! June 18, 2008 JM (Seattle, WA) This is a beautiful piece of kitchen art, but it has some flaws...Our last one pooped out somewhere around 2 years (started leaking from near the handle), and the latch to close the top cracked fairly soon on the first one we bought, years ago. You can tell that we keep buying them, though! Here's why: when working properly, it is FAST, and from my research on the internet, its the best guarantee going at a three-year replacement. Suggest you hold the lever and gently push the lid down each time you fill it though - it does become second nature. We're keeping the receipt for this one, and keeping an eye on the date. Here's the thing--if it breaks after the guarantee period, we'll buy another one.
