A simple knob can be dialed from one to nine, providing multiple grinds, while the instruction sheet details which number to use for the brewing style you prefer. The bright chrome finish and sleek walls add a modern touch to the kitchen counter, but at only 4 inches wide, it only needs a little space. A stiff brush is included for cleaning oils and other remains from the blades, which also makes it easy to use for hard spices such as cloves. The packaging from the manufacturer was inadequate to protect the product and it arrived broken. When returned, Amazon had no others in stock for replacement. So, we ordered a Virtuoso by Baratza -- it is FAR superior to the La Pavoni because it has all the same features but is sturdy yet sleek in design, quiet when operating, and has virtually NO coffee dust when grinding. We are thrilled the La Pavoni was broken and we were forced to look elsewhere. Save yourself problems and mess, get the Virtuoso.
