Consistent Coffee Grounds March 7, 2010 Avid Reviewer (San Jose, CA) I bought the Toastmaster Coffee Grinder from my local Rite Aid store and had it for years before I replaced it with a KitchenAid Grinder. This grinder gives you very consistent coffee grounds; it doesn't leave you with bigger chunks. It is also very durable!
The only fault I can find with it is that the bowl cannot be removed and washed (my KitchenAid has a removable bowl). The bowl has to be wiped clean after use.
All in all, the Toastmaster Coffee Grinder is a very good grinder that serves its intended purpose very well. Recommended.
It grinds flax seeds very well. March 6, 2010 Richard E. Bradley I bought it for the sole purpose of grinding flax seeds. I'm extremely pleased. I read some other reviews saying that it was noisy, but I don't think it is unreasonably noisy. Some seeds gather unground below the blades, for which I shake it while it's in operation to get them ground, too.
works great for flax seed January 30, 2010 Sylvia L. Hayes (Redford, MI USA) I bought it for grinding flax seed, I actually had the same model I gave to my son and his girlfriend when they went back to Oregon in his car last fall and searched for this one and was glad to find it because I had tried an electric nut chopper, a hand blender with tiny blades that did not work. This worked for the flax seed. They use it for coffee, I use it for flax seed. It works.
It's OK January 21, 2010 foggylondon I bought this grinder for grinding grains for my baby's food ( technically according to the user manual you are not supposed to use it for that ,but oh well ) I didn't expect much from it and it doesn't offer much - it grinds. It's got that *cheap plastic thing made in China* feel about it. It did pretty well on grinding tough barley so I am happy. If it lasts as long as I'm making baby food It's $15 well spent. One great feature about it - it's got cord storage! It winds neatly into the base of the grinder. My old Braun grinder doesn't and it's always a pain! Over all it's OK.
Great little grinder for seeds and nuts October 14, 2009 A. D. Phillips 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I don't drink coffee so I can't speak to how it would grind coffee beans. I bought it to grind flax seed and other fresh seeds and nuts. It does a GREAT job! I use it every day. I am extremely happy with this grinder and the price was unbeatable.
