Product Description
Waring JEX328 Waring Health juice extractor. The Waring Health juice extractor lets you get the most out of your favorite fruits and vegetables. Ideal for today's fast and healthy lifestyles, the juice extractor is engineered to make the process easy. More juice is extracted from less produce, leaving only dry pulp in the pulp collector. That means no mess while processing, and quick and easy cleanups. An extra wide feed tube minimizes preparation time, and the convenient ON/OFF toggle switch is simple to use. The efficient metal design has fewer parts to clean, is easy to assemble, and makes this attractive machine a pleasure to own and operate. Drink to your good health, with Waring. Five year limited motor warranty. One year limited appliance warranty.

Amazon.com Review
Juicing is a healthful way to eat fruits and veggies, and the Waring Juice Extractor takes juicing to the next level. A high-speed 400-watt motor makes the extraction process efficient, and makers of carrot juice will especially appreciate the brushed stainless-steel housing--the extractor won't turn orange with age.

Everyone who's ever owned a juicer knows that cleanup is the biggest downfall of home juicing. With the Waring, that won't be an issue--the compact strainer, pulp collector, lid, and juice collector are all dishwasher-safe, and the stainless-steel body wipes clean with a sponge. The extractor's die-cast base stays steady on the countertop, and its cushioned feet will minimize vibration, protecting the countertop from scratches. The extractor comes with an instruction book and a 90 day limited appliance warranty. --Ariel Meadow Stallings

3 out of 5 stars Good juicer, but there are other, better options   July 8, 2008
MW (Miramar, Florida United States)
We bought this juicer in March 2007 and it worked well up until May 2008, when it started leaking and stopped doing a decent job of extracting juice effectively. It was a great buy for us at the time (around 30 bucks and free shipping from amazing Amazon) as we wanted something to try out; to see if we would do this juicing thing very regularly. Well, we did. My wife probably ran this thing an average of three to four times per week, thus I am okay with the fact that it lasted only a little over a year since it was used so regularly.

As others have mentioned, it is quite a pain to clean, but my biggest complaint with it is the noise it produces. You really need some sort of hearing protection when you switch it on.

We have since switched over to the Breville BJE510XL Ikon 900-Watt Variable-Speed Juice Extractor, which has twice the power and makes one third (or less) of the noise (see my review on this model). This Waring was definitely worth our $30 investment, but I don't think it is worth too much more than that. For a similar cost to what it is selling for today, I would go with the Hamilton Beach 67650 Big Mouth Pro Juice Extractor or, if you really want the best and are willing to spend more, the Breville.

4 out of 5 stars Great entry level juicer   December 26, 2007
Miss Marie (Elizabethtown, KY United States)
I wasn't sure I would juice much, so I chose this one because it wasn't one that required a financial investment. I have been juicing three to four times a week for the last 10 months and this juicer hasn't missed a beat. I didn't give it 5 stars because the directions recommend "no citrus". I have seen reviews about juicers being easy to clean, I don't think this one quite meets that discription. Several of the pieces can go in the dishwasher, but the main piece has to be brushed with a small brush that is included. If you have a garbage disposal, I think this would be much easier to clean. I don't, so I have to get all the pulp off before washing.

5 out of 5 stars Great product for under 40$   November 2, 2007
Sundog
Well, I'm pretty new to juicing, but I've had this unit for a couple of months and still use it fairly regularly. The juicer seems to work best with hard fruits and vegetables like apples and carrots. It does a decent job with softer fruits like grapes and melons as well. (I've even thrown in a few oranges, shhh!) I wouldn't say it gets 100% of the juice out but certainly met my expectations.

Clean up isn't too bad and I've even made a good carrot cake from the left over pulp from a 3 pound bag.

I just noticed the price has gone up significantly... Not sure it's really worth 199$ but if you can find one for under 40-50 bucks it's a great buy.

5 out of 5 stars so worth the money!   July 23, 2007
L. Sims (Denver, CO)
This juicer works great, no problems from it being a reconditioned one. I am so glad I bought it! I haven't had very many of them, but this one is definitely easier to clean & sturdier than others I've had. We use it a lot with no problems.

2 out of 5 stars not too great   June 27, 2007
V. Truong (Michigan)
I have always been wary of these "juicers" and this one pretty much reaffirms that belief. Seems like only ~10-15% of the juice is extracted and even then, its "thick" with micropulp.

There is a lot of wasted juice in pulp as well. Stick with the old-school hand juicer if you want to get the most out of your oranges.
