5 out of 5 stars Smooth, quick, quiet coffee grinder   August 26, 2008
David C. Mcgaffey (CA, USA)
I chose this burr grinder to replace a high-quality but fragile Bodum machine I got tired of repairing. I wish I had done so years ago. After careful cleaning and setup (NECESSARY) I get small quantities of perfectly ground coffee delivered quickly and quietly from a machine which occupies little counter space. This burr grinder does exactly what you want and does it well.

4 out of 5 stars Quiet and Easy to Use   August 22, 2008
Donald C. Dutton (Clovis California)
This grinder replaced a Braun that we had used for over 12 years, but the change in the Braun to a fixed hopper left us looking for something else. The Krups is incredibly quiet compared to the Braun and the settings are even easier to use. Grind coarseness is set by a knob on the side and can be changed at will. The amount of coffee ground is set by a knob on the front and is very accurate for the way we like our coffee. The hopper slides out and is narrower making it easier to empty into our coffee machine without spilling grounds. Yes, coffee sticks to the plastic hopper, but it rinses off easily and is ready for the next grinding chore quickly. We are very happy with this machine.

1 out of 5 stars Don't Buy, It Breaks   August 16, 2008
Scott P. Libson (New York NY)
For a cheap grinder, it grounds alright, but the safety features are extremely small and they can break off easily. Once they break, you may as well throw the grinder in the trash.

2 out of 5 stars Spend more and get something better   August 6, 2008
Christopher Bonds
This machine was our first experience with a burr grinder. We owned it for a little over a year. One day it just quit. While it worked, as others have said, it got the job done but required a lot of fussing around to find the right settings. Sometimes the beans would get stuck in the hopper and the motor would race. Static cling was often a problem (this seems to be weather-related). It was difficult to remove the top half of the burr wheel for cleaning. The grinder surfaces were small, and the whole thing just didn't seem very durable. I am now in the market for something better.

2 out of 5 stars OK...but not great   July 29, 2008
G. James Purdy (Saratoga Springs, NY)
I have owned this grinder for less than 3 years. I use it 4-5 times a week on average. I grind only for myself.
Last week I pushed the grind button and it disappeared inside the grinder.
I sent it to a certified Krups repair and was notified that the parts necessary to repair were no longer available (remember it is less than 3 years old and this model is still for sale).
I would urge potential buyers to shop around and spend a little more for another manufacturer.
