Amazon.com Review
Perfect for preparing coffee at home before dashing out the door, this coffeemaker brews through the lids directly into either one or both of the 14-ounce travel mugs accompanying the machine. The stainless-steel mugs have rubber, nonslip grips, fit most vehicle cup holders, and are 6-3/4 inches high, with 2-5/8-inch-diameter rubber bottoms. Lids keep coffee hot in the mugs and are deeply indented and sloped toward the drink hole to contain spills. Both mugs and their lids are dishwasher-safe. The coffeemaker uses disposable paper filters (two included), automatically shuts off after the brewing process, and can also be used to heat water for tea, hot chocolate, and instant foods like oatmeal and soup. Made of gleaming black plastic, the coffeemaker measures 13 inches high, 5-1/4 inches wide, and 8-1/2 inches deep, and carries a three-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

4 out of 5 stars Perfect if you're the only coffee drinker in your house....   August 19, 2008
J. Parker (North Carolina)
I really enjoy this little machine - it brews fresh coffee right into my mug (no pot to wash), fits neatly and unobtrusively on my counter and holds enough water to make 2 cups if needed. My only reservation is that the coffee isn't extremely hot - not enough of an issue for me to stop using it, but especially noticeable if milk or cream are added...I sometimes need to reheat the mug before I've finished my coffee.

1 out of 5 stars On/Off switch did not work   August 8, 2008

I was not able to brew my first cup of coffee as the on/off switch did not work. I returned the product and am now waiting for credit from Amazon.

3 out of 5 stars Overflows sometimes   August 5, 2008
C. Fulmer (Raleigh, NC United States)
Pros:
* It's convenient -- no dirtying up a pot when you only need a cup.
* Cups are large

Cons:
* it occasionally overflows -- the coffee filter sometimes (maybe once a week) blocks the hole that the brewed coffee is supposed to escape through. The water then fills up the filter, overflows around the filter and then drains down into your cup from the outside, with a bunch of coffee grounds. Yuk.
* The cups are a bit larger than a 16 oz standard travel mug that you'd get at a store. So, be careful how much water you put in.

1 out of 5 stars JUNK   July 5, 2008

We never had good luck with Cuisinart coffee makers. We have had both this type as well as the standard 10-cup coffee maker from Cuisinart, and I can honestly say they should stay away from producing coffee makers. Their other kitchen appliances seem to work well just not their coffee makers!

This particular one is a complete piece of junk. The filter is a pain to put in. The coffee either comes out hot (when it works!) or messy (when it bombs!). Does not distribute well between two cups. Everything on it feels so flimsy and cheap.

I really like this product. My husband doesn't drink coffee and I do. I love a cup each morning if not two. This allows me to take it with me if we go somewhere or to work. It fits in my car cup holders. It also allows me to make the coffee to my liking. It is very easy to clean and prepare. I find you can use other cups, they just have to be the correct size.
