5 out of 5 stars Perfection!   August 17, 2008
Sammy Clemens (USA)
Yes, it needs to be on a level surface. And yes, it's best if you rinse everything out after each use. And yes, it's true that the cups do not keep coffee piping hot forever.

But in the real world of making your morning cup, if you freshly grind good beans, use good water, and just follow the directions (including the suggestion to put hot water in the cups to warm them before you brew; we let them sit and warm up while grinding, filling the reservoir, etc.), this gives you an EXCELLENT brew every time, without taking up a lot of acreage on your countertop.

We've been using two of these (one at home, one at our "pied a terre") for over a year, replacing MUCH more expensive makers we've reboxed and stored.

There's just nothing like the conical filter basket.

And at Amazon's current price, it's a steal.

1 out of 5 stars An overflowing MESS!   July 28, 2008
AZMomof2 (Tucson, AZ)
I had the same experience as other reviewers. It does not fill the mugs evenly and results in a horrible mess of coffee overflowing all over the counter! Mine went in the trash. It's a shame because it's a great concept but I'll go back to a regular coffee pot.

5 out of 5 stars 2 cup coffee maker   June 27, 2008

I absolutoly love this product. It is quick and easy and makes a great cup of coffee. It is ready to go in the travel mug. This is my second one, my husband broke the first one and I had to replace it.

4 out of 5 stars Really good little coffee pot   June 22, 2008
J. A. Cosin (Washington, DC)
I love this. I have never had a single problem with it. I find it easy to use, easy to clean and it makes a very good cup of coffee. I make only one cup about 95% of the time...the few times I've made two cups, I haven't experienced the problems that others have mentioned, it filled both cups evenly. I did actually buy a reusable filter for mine. It took less than 10 minutes and a utility knife and a pair of scissors to trim the top down and cut a notch for the water tubing, but now it works great and no paper filters deal with which makes it an even better pot. The mugs are probably the worst part of the unit, they don't fit the cup holders in my car and they don't have the best lids...but I already have travel mugs, so I just use these to brew and pour it into a better travel mug.
