Product Description Krups calls it their Expert waffle maker, a handsome appliance that looks unlike any other waffle maker you've ever seen before. The elongated unit makes two large waffles that are a full 1.25-in. deep. An adjustable thermostat can be raised to a higher setting for waffles that are crunchy and crispy; turn the thermostat down and you can use it to re-heat already made waffles without over-browning the second go-round. The cooking plates are removable and dishwasher-safe for ease of cleaning. The stainless exterior is durable, and the insulated handle keeps hands cool and collapses to allow for convenient storage. At the bottom is a nonstick drip tray to catch any batter that spills over during cooking. A red light indicates the power is on; a green light illuminates when the initial cooking temperature is reached. 7.5 x 11.25 x 8-in.
Amazon.com Review This unusual rotating waffle maker is sure to elicit admiration from brunch guests. Made of brushed stainless steel with black accents, the unit not only looks elegant but cooks professionally. After ladling the batter into the deep nonstick bottom plate, the top is firmly closed. After ten seconds, by means of the insulated handle, the waffle maker is rotated upside down and allowed to cook for the remainder of the required time (recipes and times are included in the user guide). The result: two perfect 1-1/4-inch-thick Belgium waffles, crisp on the outside, moist on the inside. A dial features variable browning settings, and two lights indicate when the waffle maker is on and when to add batter. Two curved fixed legs keep the maker upright and a drip tray fits between them to collect any batter overflow. A release button on the handle allows it to collapse for storage. Measuring 7-1/2 by 9-1/2 inches, the cook plates can be wiped clean or conveniently removed and placed in the dishwasher. With the handle collapsed, the waffle maker measures 13 by 8-1/2 by 9-1/2 inches and is covered by a one-year warranty. --Ann Bieri

Love it, love it, love it! - DIY breakfast for the tired hostess August 29, 2008 E. Osborne (Carmel Valley, CA United States) Our trial run was crispy on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside; perfect according to my husband. I hesitated for two years after enjoying one of these at a B&B. I figured it was just one more gadget in my kitchen I didn't need. I am going to put it to the test this weekend when 15 friends are staying over night. I'll be putting a major spread on Saturday night, I don't want to spend Sunday am in the kitchen cooking too so I am putting out a waffle bar for them to help themselves. My daughter is bringing hers along too, she has the Waring unit - I can't wait to compare.
Love this waffle maker! August 15, 2008 Amy Lee Jones (Clearwater, FL) I looked around a lot before purchasing this waffle maker. I love it. You have to get use to it and how fast it cooks and the timing, but once you get it down they are perfect!
Excellent Waffle Maker! August 12, 2008 Daniel Bedinger (Vacaville, CA) This waffle maker has an exceptionally even heat and is very easy to use. It seems to work best with my higher end waffle recipe's, as the 2-minute ultra-basic mix I use to make in comes out a little dry, but with my yeast waffle recipe, it makes the best waffles I have ever had. This is my first belgian waffle maker, so I am sure their is a recipe learning curve. The removable plates and base make cleaning a snap. I plan on having this waffle maker for a long time.
Waffles every weekend! August 11, 2008 Lisa Szczerba (Bear, DE USA) I ordered this waffle maker to replace a 50 year old one that my mom received for a wedding shower gift. Hers was seasoned and made great waffles but became an electrical hazard. I have a friend who purchased the Krups maker a while ago and loves it. I do too! It makes beautifully golden brown waffles every time and the removable plates can be put in the dishwasher, something I didn't have on my old waffle iron. The only tricky part is knowing how much to put in but if you make them often enough like I do now, you get the hang of it. Find yourself a great recipe with beaten egg whites in it and you will have crispy waffles that are light and airy on the inside. Delicious! Great with homemade ice cream in the summertime!
Krups FDD912 Expert Waffle Maker with Rotary System July 12, 2008 J. Grant (TX, USA) This is a great waffle maker! I'm very pleased with my purchase. The waffles are a good size and can be made as crispy as you like them. The removable cooking plates are a great feature. Plus, I haven't had any problems with the waffles sticking to the cooking plates, making cleaning them even easier.
