Product Description
Perfect Pour carafe with dripless spout and ergonomic handle. 1 piece cover for access to reservoir and brew basket. Easy to clean touch pad controls. Water fill and coffee brew markings on carafe. Sneak A Cup interrupt feature. 2 water level indicators.

Amazon.com Review
This is one programmable coffeemaker that's actually very easy to program. The touch-pad buttons are intuitive, and the printed directions clear, so there's no excuse for not waking up to the aroma of a freshly brewed pot of java. To prepare for making a pot at any hour, the lid lifts up (hinges in rear), exposing the brew basket: add a flat-bottomed paper filter and the ground coffee of your choice. There's ample pour space for water, the level of which you can view through a convenient window on either side. Simply close the lid and push the On button. Auto/On and the clock buttons set the time for delayed start.

The most satisfying thing about the glass carafe is that the wide lip pours without a single drip. In addition, the broad bottom on the carafe affords good surface contact with the stay-hot plate for up to two hours; at that point, the machine shuts off automatically for safety. Those who can't wait for a sip before the entire pot is brewed will appreciate the Sneak-a-Cup feature. While the coffeemaker stands 13 inches tall, it must be pulled forward on a counter to clear most cabinets since the raised lid requires 22 inches. The DCM2500B features a sleek hourglass shape, comes in black or white, and is covered by a one-year warranty. The brew basket and carafe are dishwasher-safe in the top rack. --Ann Bieri

5 out of 5 stars No more drips   July 29, 2010

I love this coffee maker especially the no drip pouring.I had a cheap coffee maker before this and had more coffee on the counter and floor than in the cup.The timer and clock were very easy to program,I would recommend this coffee maker to any one.

1 out of 5 stars Only lasted 4 months   July 29, 2010

The machine broke after only 4 months of use. As the on/off button no longer works, the piece is essentially useless.

5 out of 5 stars Don't hesitate to buy   July 28, 2010

This is a great little coffeepot. The carafe doesn't drip while you are half-blindly pouring the first cup of coffee in the morning, and it's super easy to set up and use. You do need to think about where you are going to put it on the counter, because to fill it with water requires some counter clearance (there is a nice long power cord though). Easy to clean, easy to operate, makes delicious coffee...about the only way they could improve this design would be to have the clock on it automagically know the correct time after a power outage.

5 out of 5 stars A Great Coffee Maker   July 26, 2010

Had this for a month now and it is easier to use, and more consistant than the higher cost one it replaced.

Brew time is fairly fast and adding the right amount of water is made easier by the dual water marks on the pot.(One mark tells you how much water to add for the linked amount of brewed coffee.). The warmer keeps it warm but it's noy too hot so as to overcook the potted brew.

The pots no spill feature is a nice touch as is the way the carafe places on the warmer.

Yes it pops a bit when the tank is near empty but, so what. The coffee is what counts.

2 out of 5 stars Great Coffeemaker, but get a better filter basket for it   July 24, 2010
Therese L. Shellabarger (North Hollywood, CA)
First, I want to clarify a few things. This coffeemaker does not "self-clean" that I can tell, at least it doesn't have any fancy doohickeys with such a label to do so. Secondly, it just makes coffee and I think it's quiet but then I am hard of hearing and might not notice. Third, the measurements, accurately labelled are approximately as follows: 12.75" high x 7.75" wide x 10" deep. With the lid up, the height is approximately 21.5". The cord does also tuck inside the back, a nice feature IMHO. And finally, the coffee seems to be quite hot enough for drinking, but not so hot that you would burn yourself. That seems to me a safety feature, not a negative. I like to drink my coffee sometimes with milk and sugar, and it's still hot enough for me even with those additions.

This coffeemaker is exactly as easy to use as others have commented, the only quibble I might make is that the LCD clock is flat so you can't really use it like you would a wall clock to see the time from several feet away. If you want such a coffeemaker, then I recommend several of the fine coffeemakers from Mr. Coffee.

The other negative that I might add is that the filter basket has a plastic bottom. I don't like it because it means not all the water drains into the coffee pot and also it isn't as easy to clean because you have to take extra care to make sure all the grounds are washed off.

Coffee tastes great however, and as this is my second Black and Decker coffeemaker, I expect I'll be buying another one when this one bites the dust. In fact, just in case Black and Decker stops making coffeemakers, I'm going to buy another one as a spare in the near future.
