Product Description BRISK BREW - ZELCO (ACCESSORY)
Amazon.com Review Ideal for travel and the office, this miniature drip coffeemaker makes it possible to brew an 8-ounce cup of coffee anywhere there's an electrical outlet. Because it can be switched between 120 and 240 volts it operates worldwide. Clad in rugged plastic, the coffeemaker is lightweight and measures just 2-1/2 inches wide, 6 inches high, and 5 inches deep. That means it fits into a briefcase, purse, or any size luggage. The coffeemaker forms part of a complete coffee-drinker's kit that includes two little plastic containers for bringing along coffee, tea, sugar, or powdered creamer; a 3-1/2-inch telescoping spoon; and a cup with handle. The containers and spoon store in the water tank next to the removable filter holder, which contains a permanent nylon filter, and the cup doubles as a lid to keep everything in place. This little machine is also great for making hot water for tea, hot chocolate, and instant soup, and it comes with a nylon travel pouch. --Fred Brack

Disappointing - sent it back November 27, 2008 I Love Music I really dislike the coffeemakers in hotel rooms - I've seen how the housekeeping staff "cleans" them, and I've also seen what some guests do to them, so I avoid the hotel coffeemakers. I wanted a coffeemaker that would easily fit in my overnight bag, and the Zelco seemed like the perfect match. Unfortunately, it didn't work out. As others have noticed, the power button is a little strange. At first I didn't think it actually worked, like some other reviewers thought, but I did finally get the hang of it. The coffeemaker does a good job of heating water to a temperature sufficient for tea, instant hot chocolate, or instant soup. When it comes to coffee, the story changes. I use a coffee that is ground very fine, and I like it strong. The Zelco seems to have a problem with this. Because of the grind and the amount, a significant portion of the coffee grounds escaped the filter during brewing, ending up in my cup. I found that I would have to change to a coarser grind, AND reduce the strength, in order for the Zelco to keep most of the grounds in the filter. Non-starter for me. I guess I'm stuck with toting a larger pot, or hoping that the hotel coffeemaker isn't dirty or contaminated with some disgusting substance.
5 years old and still going strong November 14, 2008 JC We are getting ready to go to Central America for the 5th year and once again our Zelco Brisk Brew will travel with us. This is a great little coffee maker as well as being tough as nails. It has survived lost luggage, floods, extreme heat and DAILY use for two people. It's the first thing I pack. If it ever quits working, I'll buy another!
This little coffee maker rocks! November 13, 2008 heylisak (seattle, WA) The Zelco Brisk Brew Travel Coffeemaker is perfect for the frequent traveler. It's small, lightweight, and brews a great cup of coffee. I'm a traveling musician, and take mine with me everywhere. I never have to worry about whether or not a hotel has a coffee maker, or what kind of coffee I'll be ingesting. I love this little brewer!
AWESOME!!! November 9, 2008 Becky (Louisiana) I bought this for a recent trip to Las Vegas, where the rooms have no coffee pots. I used the single serve coffee pods in mine and they worked great. The first cup took about 2 minutes to make, but after it was warmed up, it was only a minute between cups. It is so small and with it's own storage bag, packs easily. I highly recommend this product.
An answer to prayer October 24, 2008 Judy Stokes (Tucson AZ USA) My husband and I travel overseas a lot. The thing we miss the most is a good cup of coffee. We bought one for each of us and WE LOVED THEM! We were so surprised at what a good cup of coffee it made. We thought about buying several more to give to our friends who travel and to have as back-ups! I would recommend this product to everyone who LOVES coffee like my husband and I do.
