Amazon.com Review This is one programmable coffeemaker that's actually very easy to program. The touch-pad buttons are intuitive, and the printed directions clear, so there's no excuse for not waking up to the aroma of a freshly brewed pot of java. To prepare for making a pot at any hour, the lid lifts up (hinges in rear), exposing the brew basket: add a flat-bottomed paper filter and the ground coffee of your choice. There's ample pour space for water, the level of which you can view through a convenient window on either side. Simply close the lid and push the On button. Auto/On and the clock buttons set the time for delayed start. The most satisfying thing about the glass carafe is that the wide lip pours without a single drip. In addition, the broad bottom on the carafe affords good surface contact with the stay-hot plate for up to two hours; at that point, the machine shuts off automatically for safety. Those who can't wait for a sip before the entire pot is brewed will appreciate the Sneak-a-Cup feature. While the coffeemaker stands 13 inches tall, it must be pulled forward on a counter to clear most cabinets since the raised lid requires 22 inches. The DCM2500B features a sleek hourglass shape, comes in black or white, and is covered by a one-year warranty. The brew basket and carafe are dishwasher-safe in the top rack. --Ann Bieri

I agree with Consumer Reports...it's great! October 9, 2008 J. Freeman (Birmingham, Al. USA) Easy to use and easy to clean. We grind our fresh beans and pour the ground coffee in the filter, press start and next thing you know, you have great coffee. We highly recommend this coffee maker.
Black & Decker DCM2500-PT - A WINNER! October 6, 2008 Internet Shopper (Wonderful Wyoming) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The past few years we have tried numerous coffeemakers, from Bargain Store brands to very high models. The last one was a very fancy-looking item from the expensive coffee seller "Geval**". To quote my husband, "the coffee tastes like formaldahide." Our old stand-by, Consumers Reports, gave this coffee maker excellent reviews - and they are right. Finally, we can dispense with the paper towell or dish cloth under the coffee mugs while we pour. This one does not drip, either when pouring or when filling the unit. I have noted the negative comments posted on Amazon, but we have not noticed any problems at all. We have only had this for a few days, but at this time we give it a two thumbs up.
Great coffee maker with one small problem October 2, 2008 John Deegan (Carlsbad, CA United States) Great coffee maker. I love the caraffe. Pours without spilling. Easy to use. The only thing I don't like is after about 15 minutes of running it makes a "ticking" noise. That drives me nuts, but other than that, this unit is PERFECT.
Love this coffeemaker October 2, 2008 Jannean Yusko (Coquille,Oregon) I would recommend this coffeemaker to anyone as I am very pleased with its function, performance and looks. I love the wide mouth for drip free pouring and the safety shut off after two hours is a great feature as well. I love the wide area for adding the water which makes that chore easy and mess free. This is a great product and I am so pleased to finally have mine. Highly recommended.
Simple, stylish, inexpensive and makes a good cup of coffee October 1, 2008 David Candelori 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We've had the coffee maker for approximately 2 months without any issues. We bought it because it was recommended by Consumer Reports. The bottom line is that it makes a good cup of coffee. Brewing is relatively quiet especially at the end of the cycle. It takes the "flat bottom" basket style coffee filters, not the "cone" shaped filters. The pot is well designed. I appreciate the fill lines which compensate for water loss (coffee grounds and steam). What I appreciate the most is the no spill pot. Our previous coffee pot (also a Black & Decker) was poorly designed. I am glad to see that they learned from their past mistakes.
