Amazon.com Review One of the most comforting sounds in the world is the bubbling of a coffee percolator at work. And then comes the toasty aroma--it makes for a perfect morning. Percolators have come back to home kitchens, and the Presto 12-cup stainless steel coffee maker is a prime example. Its elegant, hotel-style design brings a touch of luxury to what is for many a daily pleasure. This coffee maker brews up to twelve cups of coffee at a cup-a-minute rate, which it then keeps at a constant, piping-hot serving temperature. An indicator light in the base announces when the coffee is ready. The inner fixtures--the filter basket and perk tube--are also made of stainless steel, rather than the more common (and less durable) aluminum. The power cord is removable to make storage simple. Before cleaning the coffee maker, unplug the unit and allow it to cool completely. Wash the coffee maker with warm, sudsy water and dry it thoroughly; it is not immersible. To preserve the gloss of the stainless steel, do not use steel wool or harsh, abrasive cleansers. The perk spout and filter basket can be cleaned with a brush or pipe cleaner. If necessary, coffee stain remover can be used periodically on the interior surface. The coffee maker measures 10 by 5 by 13 inches (including handle, lid, and spout). Presto guarantees this product with a one-year limited warranty. A simple instruction sheet is enclosed. --Garland Withers

Just your ordinary coffee pot June 26, 2008 C. Kington (Kentucky) This is just an ordinary coffee pot. I will say that I was looking for a coffee pot that doesn't have aluminum or plastic and this fit the bill. It works just fine. Does not have the quality of my old GE pot but hopefully it will work longer than that pot. Do wish that it did not have the spout but had a direct pour from a lip at the top.
Nice coffeemaker with the best cup of coffee ever June 11, 2008 LDS (Corning, CA) I remember my mother's freshly perked coffee that awakened you in the morning. That aroma that a drip coffee maker just can't provide, so I decided to try a percolator after all these years and this Presto coffeemaker did the trick. It makes a great cup of coffee, clean and rich with that great coffee flavor I remember. It is easy to clean and the price is perfect. I might suggest filters if you grind your own beans as I do, to keep those fine grinds from falling to the bottom of your pot, but otherwise this coffeemaker can't be beat and I would recommend it to my friends.
Very, very pleased June 9, 2008 acro (USA) From the first pot of coffee, right out of the box, I am very happy with the outcome. I wondered, as I was measuring out the ground coffee, whether it would be too weak or too strong, since it's been 40 years since I used a percolator, but I measured according to instruction booklet, 5 TBSP for 6 cups. First pot was truly my idea of a perfect cup of coffee, and I've been consistently pleased since then. One personal preference -- you don't have to use coffee filters, according to Presto directions, but I like the way the coffee comes out with the filters. I buy the white "junior filters", punch a small hole in the middle, and fit it down into the basket, a near-perfect fit. Enjoy!
Presto 12 cup SS Coffeemaker June 2, 2008 Edward A. Miller For my money, this is the best coffemaker made for the price. They make very good coffee and last practically forever----except for the electrical plug and they do last for a long time, too.
