Amazon.com Review Don't confine the pleasure of pressed coffee to home. With this combination of coffee press and vacuum-insulated thermos, European-style coffee turns up at the office or campground and stays hot three times longer than coffee made in a glass press. Simply spoon in ground coffee, add boiling water, place the lid on with plunger in the up position, wait four minutes, push down the plunger slowly, and . . . Presto! Fresh, piping-hot coffee for two or three hours. Lightweight and virtually unbreakable, the press has a handsome, satin-finish exterior and tough, nonslip, black plastic top and bottom. The press parts and smooth interior clean with sponge or cloth. --Fred Brack

I am happy with this product June 27, 2008 C. Winslow (Seattle) I bought this coffee press to take camping and it has worked out well. Note: buy coffee ground a bit coarser than drip grind because the smaller grind will yield to grounds in your cup.
Press *very* slowly! June 20, 2008 Dame Droiture (New York, NY USA) I bought this after having borrowed a friend's Bodum Chambord 8-Cup Coffee Press, and so far I am pretty impressed with Thermos's version. The 34oz in particular makes enough for around 3 extremely large cups --- and keeps it hot for hours (with a Bodum, you need to transfer the coffee into a thermos, else it cools down after the first cup is gone). At first, I was mildly disappointed with Thermos's press upon realizing that the filter wasn't doing quite as good of a job as Bodum's as far as keeping the coffee grounds back. However, the slower you press on Thermos's model, the better its filter works. Seriously -- don't rush the thing, despite the coffee-coma in the morning. I found that the best results occur when, after waiting the customary 3-4 minutes for the coffee to "brew," pull up on the lid --- but not the filter; they operate separately --- and slowly push the filter down about an inch into the liquid in order to start it. Then you can put the lid back down and proceed pressing v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y.
I was surprised to be so impressed! June 12, 2008 Nena Zieschang I never expected to be so pleased with a product! We spend weekends on our boat and got tired of the time it took to make coffee in a stove top percolator. We had just been introduced to french press coffee and fell in love! We thought it would be to good to be true to find an insulated one, So we googled and there it was! We drink the coffee within an hour or two and it has always been hot and tasty. The pot is very easy to clean, not to mention space saving compared to a keeping both a coffee pot and carafe on board.
Thermos Nissan 34oz Vacuum Insulated Coffee Press June 2, 2008 NW Amazon Shopper (Seattle, WA) This thermos coffee press performs exactly as advertised. It is well made and the press fits tight. Even with a fairly fine grind, few coffee grounds get poured into your cup. The thermos keeps coffee drinkably warm for hours, and it cleans up quick and easy. I've got several coffee and espresso makers, but this little thermos press is perfect when I want a couple of quick cups I can take into the car or out to the patio.
Hey, for 30 bucks it's pretty awesome. May 20, 2008 Rachael Rice (Montpelier, VT USA) Definitely keeps coffee hot for a couple hours. Some grounds get into the cup but that's pretty normal in my experience of french presses. I sometimes just put a filter under the press and it pretty much solves that issue. I think it is an outstanding value for the price.
