Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
The Brazil works on the same principle as all coffee presses. It combines coarse ground coffee with water that is just off of a boil. This combination along with 4 minutes of extraction time allows the oil and acids that give the coffee it's flavor to be completely extracted so you get a balanced and flavorful cup of coffee each time. After 4 minutes, just press and enjoy. There are no paper filters to soak up the oils, and cleanup is a snap. The 3 Cup Press is 12 oz and yields 3 - 4 oz. cups of coffee.

5 out of 5 stars Indispensable, but fragile.   July 9, 2008

I LOVE this little press. I use it a few times a day - every day. You can make a single mug of regular coffee, or use less water and make espresso (1/2 cup of water to 2 tbs fine ground espresso of your choosing - brewed for @ 2 mins). I use a frother to prepare the soymilk before I pour the coffee into it. The press does NOT make a crema, but the body & flavor of the coffee tastes right. I have saved a FORTUNE making my own lattes at home with this little beauty.

1 out of 5 stars Lousy Quality   May 27, 2008

It says a 3 cup press...what a joke! Maybe T-cups?! Then it broke at the strainer part after maybe 5-6 uses. Very cheaply made, and I threw it out.
Do not waste your money!

4 out of 5 stars Fun little French Press   April 23, 2008

I like this a lot, it is perfect for my one cup of tea/coffee in the morning! One and only complaint - sometimes the press doesn't go all the way down and there's some water left in the bottom, so you have to pull up the press and re-press it down.

1 out of 5 stars Small flaw makes press USELESS over time   April 12, 2008

After about 9 months of use, the small plastic piece that keeps the filter screens in place begins to loosen and slide up the plunger rod. That makes the press useless. I'm not the only one with this problem.

Bodum was cutting corners when they used a plastic pressure fitting instead of a metal threaded piece.

I contacted Bodum and they told me to buy the metal piece they should have used in the first place that's standard on all their other presses for 2.99 + 5.99 (shipping). I'll eventually buy one but in the mean time I bought the 48oz Bodum Chambord press. Its awesome.
