4 out of 5 stars Hot Hot Coffee   July 20, 2008
K. King (Eatonton)
I bought this after reading all the positive reviews. The best thing about this maker is that it makes and keeps extremely hot coffee. It is quiet, the carafe never leaks when pouring and overall I am satisfied. I took a star away for a couple of reasons. The main one being Amazon listed that a water filter is included, however, that is NOT TRUE. Since it is like trying to get in touch with the president to contact any one at Amazon, I just went ahead and ordered the filters from a vendor (at Amazon.) Also one of the prongs that holds on the lid was slightly bent straight out of the box and I know that it will not hold on long. I have emailed Hamiliton Beach about a replacment carafe in red because I know that is coming.

The coffee flavor I am working on. I am hoping the filters will make a difference and I am trying coffee brands as well. My old Braun made ok coffee but I still think for flavor you can not beat a Mr. Coffee. Also with well water I would probably fair better with using filtered water.

5 out of 5 stars even my husband can use it   July 15, 2008

My last coffee maker had a grinder in it, and seven parts to clean. my husband hated it. when it finally gave up we bought this one. It is sooo easy, only the filter comes out. Now I get coffee in bed.

5 out of 5 stars Great coffee maker   June 21, 2008
N. McDonald (Parkesburg, PA)
What a great coffee maker this is....simple and FAST! Easy to program, easy to fill, light weight, attractive. You won't go wrong with this one. Our Mr. Coffee just died, no warning! We searched Amazon, read a few reviews and bought the Hamilton Beach 43253 12 cup in red (Go Red for Women).

5 out of 5 stars Dependable Coffeemaker   June 17, 2008

I like the "feel" of this coffeemaker when I pour coffee or fill it with water. It feels substantial and doesn't leak like other reviewers have said. Some have complained that it is too high so I measured it. It's about 13-1/2 inches high. You need space for at least 14" or more. I love the RED and it matches other appliances like our can opener. So far, it's a hit. No more Mr. Coffee. Thanks to the other reviewers who warned against buying Mr. Coffee since they break soon after purchasing. No complaints about the Hamilton Beach coffee maker. Thanks to other reviewers who said it was a good one!

2 out of 5 stars Good enough--don't get attached to it   June 14, 2008
C. Sharkey (Trumansburg, NY USA)
I've owned this unit for about 6 weeks. Last week it started making horrendous noises as it's brewing. I've checked for clogs, I've run 12 c. of plain water through it. I can't figure it out. Unfortunately, I threw the box away so I'm stuck with it. I don't expect it to last long--with all the noise it making--it's bound to fail sooner than later. Other than that; it's pretty, it's not expensive. It hasn't leaked. It is tall, you do have to be careful pouring the water into the reservoir or it will pour out the bottom. The small paper basket filters--well, be careful pouring in the ground coffee or you'll be cleaning grounds up from everywhere. Still searching for the ultimate (but not exorbitant) coffee pot.
