Product Description Removable dishwasher safe grids and drip tray. High-speed grilling grid system drains grease away from food. There is also a cooking timer with auto shutoff. 108 sq. In. grilling surface opens flat to a 216 square inch double grill. Compact upright storage. Recipes included.
Amazon.com Review Steaks, burgers, hot dogs, fish, pork chops, French toast, sandwiches, hash browns, vegetables... The list goes on and on of foods and meals this compact countertop grill can cook on both sides simultaneously. A recipe booklet makes that clear, and even shows how a version of beef stroganoff can be prepared between the grill's top and bottom cooking grids in minutes. When the whole family sits down for a meal, or hungry friends turn up, the top opens flat, doubling the cooking surface to 216 square inches. (Each grid's effective cooking surface measures about 12-1/2 by 7 inches; closed, the grill--made of hard, bright, black plastic--measures 16-1/2 by 13 inches overall.) Other fine features: fats drain into dishwasher-safe drip tray for healthful cooking; timer shuts off grill automatically when cooking time elapses; dishwasher-safe, nonstick grids remove for easy cleanup; and cord wraps into bottom for storage. --Fred Brack

Bottom Grill Plates lose the non-strick quick June 19, 2008 D. Wilson (Indianapolis) I've had this grill for about 9 months and except for one thing, I love it. The bottom plate stick free coating started coming off and is 80% gone now, in less than a year. I like this grill so well, I've willing to buy a new bottom plate but can't find one, not even the the Hamilton Beach site.
Easy to clean May 28, 2008 Shawn K. Murphy (Brighton, CO) We have had this grill for a couple months and use it 3 - 4 times a week. The clean up is a breeze. The removable trays can easily be washed in the sink or dish washer. Food just slides off. The cook time is exactly as directed. We use it mainly for fish. It browns evenly every time. The only downsides would be the weight and size but I'm willing to deal with that for a grill that lasts.
Fast, safe, good results April 28, 2008 N. Fornario Two big selling points, a 15 minute shut off timer, and an internal drip tray. This is our second one, worth the money. Food cooks fast, never burnt, I use the full 15 minutes for all meats (fish though stuck to the grill). Having cats the jump up on the counter sometimes the internal drip tray is great. I can throw thin steaks, chicken, hamburgers on, with onions and bacon, and it comes out perfect. Handles three regular sized hamburgers at a time. My wife gets on me about not cleaning it up as often as I should. However, when I do clean it the gunk comes off easily. Good value for money.
Great Grill April 7, 2008 J. Mingle (Smyrna, TN, USA) After researching several grills, I decided upon this one. I've only used it twice, but I've been really happy with it's performance. I like the fact that it has a timer, so I won't burn my food when I get busy with something else. One reviewer commented on the grill tabs not being clearly marked so they stand out, and I'll agree on that after burning my fingers....guess I'll just have to pay closer attention to the position of the grill before it gets hot. All in all, though, it's a nice grill. Oh, one more thing. Even though the grills are removeable, I wouldn't wash them in the dishwasher because they are aluminum and they get that funky corroded look on the back where there isn't any teflon coating. Better to just wash them by hand, which is why I didn't give it 5 stars.
Love it more everyday February 19, 2008 C. Chang (Pittsburgh, PA) I have compared all the products out in the market to get a new grill with removable plates to replace my another still-new George grill. This is the best and also the cheapest you can find. My suggestion is to tilt the grill a little bit while operating so that the liquid can drain more quickly and your meat will burn more beautifully. I put two metal caps under the left legs. The downstream part of the grill is too deep to make well contact with the food, but it's a good place to cook baby carrots. The machine is kind of heavy and big though. But it should be quite durable if you don't drop it.
