Amazon.com Review KitchenAid's superior 12-inch round grill pan is wonderful for grilling breakfast meats or dinner steaks on top of the range and is durably constructed for a lifetime of use by serious cooks and weekend gourmets alike. Ergonomically designed, the pan's long handle has a graceful arch that makes the grill pan easy to lift, and the handle's stay-cool material is oven-safe to 500 degrees. This pan ensures you'll impress your guests with nicely grilled vegetables and meats year-round--maybe you'll want to chase away the winter chill by hosting a winter barbecue party. And if you're concerned with appearances, you'll be happy to know that this pan's detailed finish hides whisk and spatula marks. --Julie McCowan

Fantastic Pan! December 6, 2007 John C. Baker (Chicago, IL) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was worried when I bought this pan, that it wouldn't live up to its hype. But it did! What a fantastic way to cook. Easy to use, easy to clean, easy to cook great steaks and chops! Great dogs and sausages, too.
perfect searing pan April 27, 2004 Steven D. Williams (SAINT ALBANS, VT United States) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I wanted a pan I could heat to the smoking point and then keep it there for searing tenderloin. This pan works great. The low sides actually reduce splatter at this temperature since most grease is carried into the air in other pans by steam formed on the sides of the pan. The rounded grill ridges make cleaning easier. Put the pan to soak and use a little stainless polish if necessary. It's a keeper.
Nice grill January 5, 2004 Jim Krupnik (Watchung, NJ United States) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I had an opportunity to cook with this grill pan over the Christmas holiday. It is well made, it handles well on the stove top, and it heats pretty evenly. Depending on what you are cooking, the stainless interior can be easy or a pain to clean. I gave it four stars because I think a grill pan might be better served with a non stick surface. For a saute pan, and for reducing sauces, I like a stainless surface. It is much easier to see what is going on there than with a non stick. For a grill though, non stick properties are more important. One reviewer wrote that he thought non stick was a scam, and that it goes away within a few months. Nonsense. That might have been the heads up on cheap supermarket pans 30 years ago, but a quality non stick pan today will last for years, and cook a perfect omlette, or grill a perfect fish fillet. Think about the job at hand, and choose the tools accordingly. A glance at the pans used in commercial kitchens, or those used by the wide variety of TV chefs is enough to let you know that there are some jobs that are tailor made for non stick cookware. Eggs, cheese, fish, and general grilling are among them.

Nice product, but not 5 stars May 23, 2003 J. Manly (Honolulu, HI United States) 9 out of 11 found this review helpful
This is a good product, but not excellent. I give it only three stars for the following reasons: 1. The very low sides allow for LOTS of spatter with fatty meats. Use a spatter gard, or account for that spatter in your placement of this item on your stove. 2. If you have a gas stove, you're likely to be happier using this product than if you have an electric stove or an induction range. 3. Clean up is NOT a breeze. You will need to soak and scrub a bit. If you are presently using, and are happy with, one or more good quality (All-Clad, KitchenAid, Cuisinart, etc.) stainless steel skillets, you know what to expect and will be happy with this grill pan. 4. Storage will be an issue for those with limited space. In part this is because the handle is awkwardly sized and arcs upward in a way that makes finding storage a challenge. That said, it does a nice job with grilling. It's fairly compact. It's very well made and will likely last long enough to pass on to your heirs. My most satisfactory (and recommended) use has been with the gas grill outdoors. You'll have the grilled taste and the convenience of little clean up of the area from spatter, yet no nasty grills to clean, as well as no carginogens from the char (tasty but deadly) from direct cooking over an open flame.
