8 inch skillet July 14, 2008 J. Warren (north carolina coast) Beautiful skillet, cleans well, heats quickly and evenly. It is perfect for omelets. The surface cleans nicely. I was tired of non-stick surfaces scratching and needing to be replaced. I am going to purchase more of the Cuisinart stainless products.
Nice little pan May 15, 2008 K. D'Orazio (Buffalo, NY) I love the Chef's Classic line of cookware! This is a great little pan for smaller portions of food. I use the 12-inch everyday pan for most of my cooking, but this one comes out for eggs or side dishes. I like using it for smaller jobs. Make sure you use enough fat, keep the temperature low, and keep a can of barkeeper's friend handy for easy cleaning.
Disapointed April 29, 2008 Ronnie McCurry (Charlotte, NC USA) I am one of those crying about the pan sticking. I have tried all types of oils and sprays and can't do something so simple as fry an egg with this pan or any of the 3 I have. It is impossible to flip an egg without breaking the yolk because it sticks. The larger dome covered pan I have was used one time to fry burgers and now it is discolored. I would not recommend this to anyone and would love to get rid of mine. Unfortunately I threw away the boxes assuming these were quality.
Too small and shallow April 15, 2008 G. Salgia (Detroit) The product is great. I agree to most of the positive reviews. Just that its too small and shallow. I thought I would be able to cook indian vegetables for two in this skillet. Unfortunately, the contents would splash and spill out of this cookware. Someone mentioned that the inside of the 8' skillet is only 6.5' -- and I totally agree to that.
Good skillet for the money April 13, 2008 C. Wiener (Boston, MA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
First off, anyone who is whining about it not being "non-stick" needs to understand that this isn't a teflon pan -- it's stainless steel and needs to be treated like it. You have to use some sort of oil during cooking, be it butter, olive oil, canola, etc. and let it get pretty warm before adding your food. It's disappointing that the aluminum core doesn't extend further up from the base, but at this price you can't expect it to. It distributes heat great, and has cooked everything to perfection. Highly recommended, one star penalty for not having the aluminum extend further.
