Amazon.com Review
The Simply Calphalon Stainless line of cookware is an excellent alternative for those who prefer cooking in stainless steel and who desire Calphalon quality at a more budget price. This 4-quart saucepan simmers up larger quantities of soup, tomato sauce for pasta, or fruit sauce for ice cream.

Made of attractive 18/10 brushed stainless steel, this pan has an aluminum core through its bottom for even heat distribution. The stainless-steel loop handles are comfortable to grip, plus they minimize heat transfer so handles stay cool on the stovetop. Handles are held in place by sturdy stainless-steel rivets. The cover is made of tempered glass, for monitoring your food while it cooks, and has a dome shape, which allows food to retain its moisture while cooking. The cookware and lids are oven-safe up to 450 degrees F so you don't have to dirty several pans to make one dish. All cookware in this line is 100-percent dishwasher-safe and is covered by a 10-year warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde

5 out of 5 stars A great saucepan   February 8, 2005

I just bought this pan, my second Simply Calphalon saucepan, and I love it! It cooks evenly, is easy to clean, and it's very helpful to be able to see inside the pan (when there's not too much condensation). It CAN be washed in the dishwasher; that does NOT void the warranty. I phoned Calphalon to ask because of the previous reviewer. Apparently, he did not check his facts before downrating 27 Calphalon products. Hard anodized pans should be washed by hand. It's good to wash stainless steel by hand, but the dishwasher is no problem.

1 out of 5 stars I do not like being lied to!   May 25, 2004

I purchased this product line in a retail store. The packaging clearly states it is dishwasher safe. Then after you unpack it, and read that if you put it in the dishwasher you void the ten year warranty! Do not make the same mistake I did, avoid this product.

4 out of 5 stars Nice piece of cookware   September 24, 2003

This is a good, solid, workmanlike stainless piece. The sides are a good weight, the inner and outer surfaces are good, the lid is snug and the long handle stays cool. I just got mine yesterday and promptly made a batch of chicken soup with it. I desperately needed a pot of this size, and it will get lots of use in my kitchen. Perfect size for soups, sauces and moderate batches of pasta. The only reason I gave it a 4 is because of the non-insulated pot lid handle.
