Editorial Reviews:

Amazon.com Review
Slow-simmered beans, fragrant vegetable soups, and rich meaty stews all cook beautifully in this large, sturdy 6-quart saucepan. It's also ideal for blanching vegetables and cooking pasta. The thick, hard-anodized aluminum construction conducts heat evenly and efficiently through the sides as well as the base, ideal for gentle simmering, and a tempered glass lid seals in flavor while keeping the contents visible. Because a long handle would be awkward on a pan of this size, the saucepan has two stay-cool loop handles, so it's easy to maneuver even when full.

Cuisinart Chef's Classic hard-anodized cookware features an advanced Quantanium nonstick coating, designed for healthy low-fat cooking. The coating is tough enough for use with metal utensils. Even delicate foods like fish can be cooked without sticking, and cleanup is quick and easy. Every pan is constructed from durable 3mm hard-anodized aluminum, providing superb heat transfer without hot spots. The securely riveted stay-cool steel handles are oven-safe to 500 degrees F, so food can be browned on the stovetop then transferred to the oven to finish cooking. This pan should be hand-washed with a mild detergent, and it carries a limited lifetime warranty against defects. --Simon Leake

1 out of 5 stars Hard Anodize Gone after only ONE USE!   September 27, 2006
Ppk Llc David Strain (San Antonio, Texas)
I purchased one of these "Hard Anodized" pots last week and used it once to boil some green beans. To my amazement, the dark grey finish on the inside dissolved and is completely gone leaving only bare silver-colored aluminum! What a cheap, phony product!

This pot is nice and very easy to clean. The size is right, not too big and not too small. I use it every day. I got a good deal on this pot for $26.

5 out of 5 stars Not just a pot   January 30, 2006

Hey, I know it sounds weird to review a pot (I mean it's a pot, right?) but it is a good one. Nothing sticks, we can clean it and still have time to have a life and it boils water turned to medium because, well, who knows? but it somehow conducts heat and works great to get the job done FAST. That's important because I work as a professor and a therapist and a mom of a teen who runs cross country (and eats more pasta than a stereotype) and a toddler (who eats and throws more pasta than his brother) so fast and efficient get high scores at our house.

1 out of 5 stars Not as good as I thought it would be   January 3, 2006

Bought this stockpot with a lot of expectations. I used it for the first time to make soup, and there were scratches all over the bottom. I even used a wooden ladle instead of a metal utensil. I expect quality from Cuisinart cookware and also from quantanium non-stick coatings. I also expected it to be heavier.
