Product Description Classic Clad from Henckels, the new cookware set with all your most-used pieces. The pans feature exclusive handles that provide optimal control, comfort and balance. The unique hollow-cast handles connect to the pan in a V-shape, keeping the handles cooler while using on the stovetop. Flared rims provide easier pouring. The set includes 8-in. Fry Pan, 10-in. Fry Pan, 1-qt. Sauce Pan with Lid, 2-qt. Sauce Pan with Lid, 3-qt. Saute Pan with Lid and a 6-qt. Stockpot with Lid. Following in the footsteps of its legendary cutlery lines is the new Henckels Classic Clad cookware made of the finest, multi-ply clad materials. Specially packaged, each piece arrives in its own cloth bag with drawstring closure. The soft bag (one for the pan and one for the lid) prevents scratches when storing and dust from collecting; it also makes a handsome gift for giving. On the outside, mirror finish, magnetic stainless steel offers professional looks so popular in today's kitchens while 18/10 satin stainless steel interiors help disguise the signs of wear and tear. Sandwiched in-between is a layer of thick aluminum. All provide the maximum heat conductivity for superior cooking performance. The interiors have curved contours (not hard, right angles) so food particles won't stick and cleanup is quick. And to help you with measuring, all of the pans in this collection (except the fry pans) come with c
Amazon.com Review Clad inside and out in gleaming stainless steel, the pots and pans in this set get a new kitchen up and running in no time. Included are one- and two-quart lidded saucepans, a three-quart lidded sauté pan, six-quart lidded stock pot, and open 8- and 10-inch frying pans. The long handles, riveted for strength and curved for comfort and control, stay cool thanks to their hollow design and V-connection. Cooks who like to hang pots and pans within easy reach will appreciate the generously sized hole in the handle ends. Whisks, spoons, and cleaning brushes all glide smoothly along the curved inner contour of the pans, and the stainless-steel lids fit snugly on the flared, easy-pour rims. J.A. Henckels International, the economical division of Zwilling J.A. Henckels, makes the durable Classic Clad series for serious home cooks. An aluminum core sandwiched between the stainless steel layers distributes heat evenly not just across the bottom of the pot but up the sides, and requires only low to medium temperatures. As well as being oven- and broiler-safe up to 500 degrees F, each pot or pan features a brightly polished magnetic stainless-steel exterior safe for all types of stovetop burners: gas, electric, ceramic, induction, and halogen. The 18/10 stainless-steel interior resists sticking, won't react to acidic foods, and welcomes metal utensils. Henckels recommends washing Classic Clad pieces by hand to retain the mirror finish, and covers the cookware with a lifetime warranty against defects. Except for the frying pans, each pot shows liter and quart markings, and every piece comes wrapped in a soft, drawstring gift/storage bag. --Ann Bieri What's in the Box 1-quart saucepan with lid; 2-quart saucepan with lid; 3-quart sauté pan with lid; 6-quart stock pot with lid; 8-inch fry pan; 10-inch fry pan. Love this set! October 16, 2008 K. Boren (New York, NY) This is a great set. To clean I would suggest BOn Ami. HEats evenly, easy to clean and maintain.
Excellent, superb quality cookware! August 27, 2008 D. Moore (Cleveland, OH) I've owned this set of cookware for over two years, and I love them! The packaging was the first sign of quality. Everything is individually placed in plastic bags, then placed in cloth bags. They are superb quality, sturdy, very well-constructed, good looking, heat evenly, and I expect them to last a very, very long time. They've tarnished slightly, but it does not affect the results, and may be caused by occassionally cleaning them in the dishwasher. They clean up nicely for non-non-stick pans. :) They are a bit pricey, but if you want long lasting cookware that produces consistent results without requiring special care, treat yourself to this awesome set!
Very happy with these April 16, 2008 Anthony Talbert (Odessa, TX) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I purchased this set because I was replacing my 16 year old radiant cooktop with a new induction cooktop and most of my older cookware was not induction capable. I decided that these were a reasonable alternative to the more expensive All Clad cookware and, at this price, if they didn't work out well I could always afford to replace them. I used them originally with the old radiant cooktop and was quite impressed with how quickly they heated, how well the cooked, and how easy they were to clean. I had expected stainless steel to be hard to clean but these are not. At times I will need to soak them for an hour or so prior to cleaning but most of the time that is not necessary. So far we have used regular dishwashing liquid to clean them. I'm even more impressed with their performance with my new GE induction cooktop and I particularly like the interior volume markings. It is amazing how I can "titrate" the level of simmering/bubbling/boiling with the combination of the induction cooktop and this cookware. In short, these are very cost effective, functional, and attractive.
Great bargain, but hard to clean May 9, 2007 Elizabeth Hughes (South Carolina) Before purchasing this cookware set, I had read that it is hard to clean. Boy, they aren't kidding. You have to buy special stainless steel cleaner to remove even scrambled egg from the pan. Also, be very careful about using oil sprays (like Pam) because it sticks to the pan and is very hard to get off. Otherwise, I am very happy with the set because it is heavy and well constructed, heats evenly and works well. If you don't mind extra work to clean it, this would be the set for you. I would still buy this set again without hesitation.
Classic Clad quality cookware, but beware of the warranty April 16, 2006 oaks (Michigan) 9 out of 17 found this review helpful
After appealing Henckels decision not to replace my cookware, Henckels decided to replace two of my 10 pieces due to the non-stick coating coming off. If two of the pans were defective enough for replacement, all of the pans that had the coating coming off should be good enough for replacement. I realize that this review is not about the specific Classic Clad cookware on this page, I have the TwinCast cookware, which is no longer available, however, I want potential customers to know that their limited warranty is "very" limitied. I received Classic Clad cookware in place of the two Twin Cast pieces that Henckels agreed to replace. I must admit the Classic Clad cookware is very sturdy and aesthetically appealing. I would reccommend the Classic Clad cookware, I don't think you will ever have to worry about using the "limited" warranty. I hope this review helps.
