What a good buy! July 24, 2008 Mary P. Alston (Rockwall, TX) I didn't want new cookware, but by age 25 my old set had developed severe handle issues. I researched, looked at and handled sets from the most expensive names to the least expensive no-names. The Farberware Advantage set is configured for the way I cook. I like the size of the 3 sauce pans, each slightly larger than the old Farberware equivalents. The flared rims really do reduce pouring dribbles. The small skillet is an excellent omlette size AND the lid from the largest sauce pan fits it. The 10-inch skillet is deeper than older skillets and it has a long handle. The 7-quart stock pot is a great compromise between the traditional 6-quart dutch ovens and current 8-quart stock pots offered in sets. It is more spacious for boiling pasta, but I can also use it in the oven for stew. It is a lower profile so it isn't too tall for my pot rack or shelves. This cookware is medium heavy with excellent heat distribution. The big handles really do stay cool, but the lids do not. The lids fit well, and they seem less inclined than the old style to dance around and spew the pot's contents. This cookware was a great buy. In short, I liked my old stuff but I like this better.
Faberware Advantage Cookware Set July 14, 2008 Linda R. Selvia (Cincinnati,Oh) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased my first set of Faberware cookware over 20 years ago.Since I have always had electric stoves, even heating has been a problem with my cookware. The heavy aluminum-clad bottom and the stainless steel body have solved all the problems. The handles have not been as good as I would have liked, however. They have loosened up and even broken.I use a screw driver to tighten them periodically. Faberware Advantage has improved upon the handles with their new cookware.I purchased my son and his fiance a set of this cookware and I can say I am jealous. It is much better than my old set and it reminds me of the quality of professional cookware, but not at the price. I've bought a lot of cookware over the years with the hope of meeting some of deficiencies of my old set or to meet special-needs cooking, like a non-stick for omelets or a wok for stir frying. This is the only cookware you need other than a non-stick pan for omelets. With the special price and no-shipping charges, I paid a little over $100 for one of the finest sets of cookware on the market. This isn't just a bargain, its superior set of cookware.I am leaning toward replacing my old set with this one.I just have to sell my husband on this.
Never Knew June 24, 2008 countrypill (East Tennessee) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I never knew that I would like stainless steel cookware until I purchased the Farberware Advantage set. I always used non stick cookware because I always thought that food would stick easily to stainless and be hard to clean up. That's not the case with this cookware. I love it! It is heavy, restaurant grade cookware. I just clean it with Scotchguard pads and clean up is easy. My mother in law needs a set so I am definately recommending this set to her or anyone else in need of cookware.
It's Great! April 26, 2008 C. Jordan 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I have to agree with all of the other comments. My food never sticks to them and I will never regret not going with non-stick. These pots and pans will last forever as they are high quality, cook well, and I do not have to worry about not using metal utensils with them.
Great cookware April 5, 2008 D.J. 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this set as a house warming gift for my son and daughter-in-law. They are very happy with it. I cooked with it while watching my grandchildren and it cleans up easily, cooks quick and even. Wish someone would by me a set!
