Amazon.com Review
This trusted name in kitchen appliances carries its renowned design and construction expertise into this Chef's Classic 12-piece cookware set. Classically styled for any kitchen décor, each piece is crafted of 18/10 stainless steel, with an encapsulated aluminum base for quick, even heating without hotspots. The mirror finish never reacts with food or discolors, and maintains its shine even after repeated dishwasher-cleaning. Even the handles and lids are solid stainless steel for the utmost in durability.

Included in this set are three lidded saucepans, holding 1-1/2, 2, and 3 quarts, all sizes you'll reach for everyday for such tasks as cooking soup, rice, or macaroni-and-cheese. The 8-inch and 10-inch skillets are ideal for frying and sautéing, whether onions and mushrooms, omelets, pancakes, hamburgers, or fish. Braise meat dishes in the sauté pan, which lifts with the aid of a helper handle; and fill the 8-quart stockpot with chili, corn-on-the-cob, artichokes, or pasta. Each piece is oven-safe up to 550 degrees F, so you can start a dish on the stovetop and finish it in the oven or under the broiler. You can freeze foods in these durable pans, too. Dishwasher-safe, the set makes a superb gift and is covered by a lifetime warranty against manufacturer's defects. --Ann Bieri

5 out of 5 stars Cuisinart 12-piece set   March 4, 2010
E. Ostermann (US)
We bought this to replace old teflon set, after deciding
not to buy anything coated. Even tho I had glass covers
previously, I like the solid covers because they have no
porous ridges around the handles to catch grease, etc.

Pots cook on Medium as indicated, handles
stay cool, not heavy. Easy cleanup, even for things like eggs, when
you fill with soap and water after using, as recommended.
Stay shiny in the DW too.

If you need more pieces, it's best to go up a step,
as that's cheaper than buying extras individually. I got the 12
instead of 10 to get the extra deep-sided fry pan.

4 out of 5 stars Stainless Steel Cookware   February 27, 2010

I have had this set for a few weeks now & so far, pretty good. My only complaint is that even on low heat the cookware bottoms show a white film. I called Cuisinart & they said to use Barkeepers Friend or Bon Ami. It does work to take off the rainbow effect. Other than that it seems to be a quality set.

This was amazing box set of everyday use pots and pans. Being a cook I am always looking for good cheap cookware for the house. The stainless steel finish is very sleak and stylish. Fast shipping, high qaulity product and packaging, which I kept for future moves.

4 out of 5 stars Good value, a couple of flaws.   January 7, 2010

I really enjoy this cookware set, it was gotten to replace a rather awful wolf gang puck set. It is very good quality for the price you will be hard pressed to find a similar quality product in the same price range.

That being said out of the box I had a problem with the seams on the inside rim of the lids. Where the seam was it was indented- or actually bent in on two of the lids. I have pretty much convinced myself this part of the pan can not be steel, as it's way to pliable. My husband just pressed the seam back into alignment but I worry about how such a weak material will hold up in the long run.

My second issue is these pans tend to discolor very easily. Typically stainless cookware only discolors if it's mistreated, at least that is what I have experienced in using it. However, there is no keeping this set as pristine as I prefer it to be. Before typing this review I did a bit of an experiment. I had kept blaming the discoloration on the heat being up to high but not matter how low the heat was it still happened. So I cooked three different things on the lowest the burner would go with still being lit and everything still discolored the pans. The worst was from a 1/4lb of lean ground beef.

To keep these looking good I have to use a product like bar keepers friend and with four kids I hate products that add to my cleaning time. Since the appearance does not affect the performance of this product I gave it 4 stars.
