Calphalon Contemporary Hard Anodized Collander September 19, 2007 J. Kluber 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
This collander was free with my purchase of other Calphalon products. I would not have bought it for myself due to the price. The collander is sturdy, but it does not drain well. There are not enough holes in the bottom for all the liquid to drain out.
Ridiculous pricing. June 8, 2007 KennyS2006 (GA, United States) 2 out of 7 found this review helpful
Honestly, what's up with the Calphalon prices lately? $110 for a COLLANDER? :-S
Gift with purchase Big and Attractive March 27, 2007 Dwight (USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Mine arrived scratched. The dark area seems to be painted on over steel and I think there are brush marks visible. I guess this is a decorative piece hence the markup. Amazon sent me a replacement which I am keeping although it also is scratched. I counted three scratches on each collander and chose the one where the location of the scratches were less irritating. This is a very big colander. I imagine that this is desired by people with top notch kitchens. It hasn't grown on me yet.
Nice collander January 9, 2007 P. Manoogian (Lansdale, PA USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
looks pretty. i use it more to hold towels than to strain though since i find rubber strainers same size to be easy to throw in dishwasher so i prefer rubber ones. Got this calphalon one free.
Sturdy & Stylish January 9, 2007 B. Arner (Carlsbad, CA USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This came as a bonus with the purchase of a cookware set. At first, we were going to re-gift it until we actually took it out of the box. This baby is replacing our plastic strainer for certain! It's easy to clean and dries fast. We've barely had it for a month and use it almost every day for pasta, prep work or fruit washing. It is relatively light for it's size and looks like it will hold up for many years of active kitchen use.
