Amazon.com Review
This historical cookware maker's legacy can be traced all the way back to Paul Revere, who founded the first incarnation of the Revere company. Today's Revere Ware is designed with modern-day convenience in mind as evidenced by the variety of lightweight vessels in this all-inclusive bundled 14-piece set. This Tri-Ply cookware collection includes a 9-inch skillet for frying crabcakes or sautéing shrimp and garlic. A 6-quart stockpot with a lid is ideal for simmering hearty soups or stews. Four covered saucepans, in varying sizes of 1, 1-1/2, 2, and 3 quarts, are useful for a wide range of preparations, from cooking fruit for baby food purees to boiling pasta to making a reduction sauce for basting meats. Three mixing bowls, in 1-, 2-, and 3-quart sizes round up the collection and are certain to be staples for everything from mixing cake batter to whisking eggs. Each bowl also includes a plastic cover for storing leftovers or ingredients for later use.

As part of the Tri-Ply Bottom collection, these pots, pans, and bowls are constructed of durable, shiny stainless steel. The bottoms on the pans feature an encapsulated aluminum disk between two layers of stainless steel for quick and even heat distribution. Phenolic coating on the knobs and pistol-grip handles provides a comfortable and safe grip and is oven-safe to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. This cookware is dishwasher-safe; however, handwashing is recommended as the dishwasher will eventually dull the shiny luster. Tri-Ply Bottom cookware is covered under a 25-year limited warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde

2 out of 5 stars I wouldn't buy this again   August 13, 2008

Twenty-five years ago, I got a set of Revere Ware pots that I still use but that are getting a little "long in the tooth." A few years ago I looked for some replacements but couldn't find Revere anywhere. So I was excited to recently see this set on Amazon, and I bought it. However, whereas the old Revere was made of high grade (18/8 or 18/10) stainless steel, this set is not. Given that, I don't think it's worth the price. For a comparable price, you can get "classic" Farberware pots, which are still made of 18/10. It's sad, though, because I much prefer the flat lid knobs on Revere, which prevent the lid from rolling around when you put it on the counter during cooking. Perhaps Farberware could buy the rights to the Revere design...

I love these pans. I did a lot of research on stainless steel cookware before I decided to purchase the Revere Ware and I am glad I did. I have had various brands of stainless steel cookware in the past, but this is the best. It heats fast on low and medium heat levels and heats evenly. The pans are not heavy, but they are sturdy. There is a pan size in this set for every need and the bowls are great to have. The price is right, too.

I had a set of these with the copper bottoms for over 30 years until my husband decided he wanted newer, fancier pots (Calphalon - nice, but I'd still be happy with my old set). I wish I'd thought to store mine for my daughter, but I sent them up to Tahoe for the fire victims and I'm sure they made someone's day brighter.

I bought a new tri-ply set like this for her first apartment last summer thinking it would take abuse from roommates better. LOL, her roommate's already aced the small pot but at least she didn't start a fire like a roommate of mine did, and it was replaceable.

This is a great starter set, and I think the thicker bottoms are safer for rookies and easier to keep clean than the copper ones. The set I found came with a stainless skillet and I would prefer the nonstick skillet in this set. The price here is great, plus no tax and free shipping, you've gotta love Amazon :)

We're very satisfied. She loves her pots. They are easy to handle and store, nice-sized pots with well-designed, cool handles that are perfect, not oversized like most sets today. Plus you never need to turn the burners up past medium, they are so energy efficient! The only thing I could wish for is a 4 quart saucepan like I had to go with my old set. I guess they don't make them any more, but I wish they did, they're such a good size.

This is the last of Revereware, so go for it. You will love them!

P.S. Don't put them in the dishwasher and ruin the handles, this is a nice looking set and still will be 30 years from now if you take care of it!

5 out of 5 stars Revere Ware rules!   January 16, 2007

I ordered this set to complement a few pieces of Revere Ware that I have had for years. Though it's true that these pans are made of lighter weight material than in past years, the quality is still good. I chose these because of the many options in size and I haven't seen any other cookware that is so light in weight without being low in quality. So many cookware sets today weigh a ton and have long, metal handles, making them hard to store and use.

This is a good and well made set. I like it, however, the size of the frying pan and the largest pot could be a lot bigger. though for the price you cannot go better.
