Worst one I have Used to date April 16, 2008 Amazon shopper (Saratoga, CA) This thing is a disappointment. It is too thin to flip anything with a bit of mass to it. The nylon bends immediately from sitting in a drawer and holds that position. I have tried probably 10 flippers over the last little while and for me, this is the worst. I used to like the Calphalon turners but the edge of the one's I ordered recently have shown splitting very quickly. Ironically, my favorite is the Henkel's silicon spatula and I can't really explain why ... it's too thick, food doesn't slide as easy as I would like, but it's the one I keep going for. As for this one, tried it one final time and tossed it in the garbage. I'm sure these things are meant for many different applications and may will be happy with it, I'm just one unsatisfied customer.
Flexibility June 22, 2007 Marleen Fredell (Spanaway, WA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
OXO make excellent products. I purchased an OXO Good Grips Large Nylon Flexible Turner and am pleased with the flexibility. You are able to really get under what you are trying to turn.
Another quality OXO product! May 13, 2007 Gail J (Pennsylvania) As items break or become unusable in my kitchen I am slowly replacing them with Oxo good grips. I think the quality is outstanding and I like the design of them.
There is such a thing as too flexible April 24, 2007 J. Medeiros (Oakland, CA) I typically love OXO products, but I found this turner to be just too flexible. I found it could not bear up under much weight at all, and bent too much. I suppose this could be an asset in some circumstances, but I have struggled to find them. Just not a useful item for me.
Works great fo non-stick pans January 5, 2007 CH3CH2OH (N. California) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This turner worked great for non-stick pans. Most of these are real thick plastic, and you can't get them under the food like a metal turner. Then the food just gets pushed around the pan. The edge of this turner is so thin, it gets under food much better than any other non-stick turner. This model seems to be a lot stiffer than their other narrower models. The extra width seems to make it stiffer. It still bends some if the food is fairly heavy, however. But for flipping burgers, and even a little bigger things, it works just fine. One thing however, the black surface looks non-stick, but some things still stick to it a little, especially at the front edge when it pushes or drags under stuff, but it still cleans off easily.
