Amazon.com Product Description For coffee that's as fresh as the neighborhood coffee shop, but served at home, try Cuisinart's Automatic Grind and Brew coffeemaker. It makes it easy to enjoy fresh coffee with the utmost convenience--ground whole-bean coffee pours directly into the filter basket at a pre-set time for instant brewing. The maker does all the thinking, with a range of programmable features: set the machine to grind and brew at exactly the right time, predetermine the coffee's temperature, and program the machine to turn off a half-hour later. Other features take the guess work out of coffeemaking as well: the flavor setting ensures the optimal amount of water is used for a rich, aromatic taste and no acidity or bitterness, and the large easy-view water window makes sure the right amount of water is added. The gold-tone permanent filter also enhances coffee flavor for a hardy, rich taste. A self-clean feature lets you know when calcium buildup is interfering with the machine's operation; turn on the self-clean cycle to make quick work of grime. Daily cleaning of the machine is somewhat involved since all individual parts must be removed, so prepare for slightly longer clean up in exchange for time-saving upfront. Two additional caveats: The grinder is noisy, as most grinders are, and cannot be turned off midgrind. And the coffee bar is taller than average coffee machines, so make sure you have a spot for it with plenty of below cupboard space. --Emily Wolf

Makes great coffee while it lasts October 7, 2008 David of Lombard I agree with the majority of reviews that this unit makes great coffee. It grinds the beans fresh, and the aroma of the coffee is wonderful. You do have to wash the inner parts after each use, but the real negative is that this unit does not last long. I am on my fourth one, and none has lasted longer than 2 years. The warranty is 3 years, so you can purchase one, replace it under warranty, and get 4 years of total service.
great inexpensive grind n brew September 16, 2008 gocode03 (California) This is the second one of the same model I have owned (the first one moved out with my ex...). I loved the first one (the coffee maker, not the ex) so much I got another one just like it. It's easy to clean and maintain, and makes a great cup of coffee.
great coffee maker May 5, 2008 Tami Dougherty (Texas) Great coffee maker. It makes great tasting coffee. You do have to rinse out the grinder and let it air dry before the next use, but that is simple to do. The grinder works great and the timer is so nice to have in the morning when you can wake up and have freshly made coffee waiting for you (-; We have had it for over a month now and are very impressed with the quality and the great price.
very dissatisfied April 1, 2008 James Joseph (sacramento calif) 1 out of 3 found this review helpful
I am extremely dissappointed in this coffee maker. It is very awkward to use, lifting the entire lid to refill the water and place beans in grinder and takes an act of congress to remove the used filter, moreover, it does not brew a good cup of coffee. I used it three days and went back to my $12.95 Ikea French Press! Now that makes a great cup of coffee and for a lot less work. I would return this in a heartbeat.
Yummy Coffee! August 31, 2007 The One and Only (San Francisco, CA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
We bought the reconditioned model of this coffee maker about four months ago, and we're enjoying freshly ground/brewed coffee daily. I agree with the other reviewer, that there are a lot of goopy parts to clean each time. Honestly, however, we don't even have a dishwasher, and it's not too bad. For us, counter space is limited, and not having to have a separate grinder is very convenient. There were no signs that the unit was "used" or reconditioned; looked like new. We bought the gold tone filter separately, but that ended up just being another thing to wash, so we're back to paper filters. I've never made such tasty coffee at home before. The option to set the maker to your cup preference really does seem to make a difference. I'd recommend it to anyone who appreciates a fine, fresh brew, and doesn't want to invest in a $100+ coffee maker
