Product Description The Automatic Brew and Serve Coffee Maker brews coffee directly into the carafe by using the patented brew through lid. Serving coffee is just as easy, the lid also dispenses the brew without ever having to twist or turn the carafe lid. The carafe is so efficient that it keeps coffee hot for up to 6 hours and preserves that great coffee flavor from the moment you brew it. Totally programmable, this coffee maker can be started any time during a 24-hour cycle. Features: - LCD Clock - automatic shutoff 12 (5 oz.) cup double-wall insulated stainless steel carafe - Patented Brew through and pour through lid that keeps air out and coffee fresh and hot for hours - Automatically shuts off and sounds a beep after brewing is complete - Brew Pause feature lets you enjoy a cup of coffee before brewing has finished - Easy to see water level indicator - Limited 3 year warranty 60 oz capacity

The Best. End of story. September 21, 2008 Good Stuff I've had this coffee maker for about five years of flawless service, making at least one pot a day, seven days a week, etc. I have never had a problem screwing on the lid and I've never had a problem closing the filter basket. By-the-way, those who complain about the lid being difficult to unscrew to the "pour position" and that the coffee then doesn't stay hot are nuts. There is no pour position. The lid stays in place during the brewing cycle and during pouring afterward. It self seals. If you are unscrewing the lid, for some insane reason, you are needlessly breaking the seal, which is why your coffee is getting cold. Mine stays hot for easily five hours. And for those who have "the 10 cup version" and try to piggy back whatever problems they've had with it onto this unit, I would just say that this coffee maker DOES NOT HAVE a 10 cup version. While Cuisinart makes a 10 cup thermal carafe coffee maker, it is an entirely different design. Finally, in the last week or so, after all these years, my wonderful coffee maker has developed a leak. A drip, actually, during the brew cycle, from behind the filter basket. I think maybe a seal may have broken. Very tight area with poor visibility. But, not to worry! When I bought this unit I liked it so much I bought a backup, figuring the time would come to replace it and it wouldn't be available. So I just pulled the box out of the hall closet, opened it up and plugged in my brand new coffee maker. The only difference is I've gone from black to white. I am pleasantly surprised to find this machine still on the market. I cannot recommend it strongly enough. However, I bought both of mine, back then, remanufactured, for $39.95 each - shipping included. Ah.....those were the days. Ciao!
Hot Hot Hot January 15, 2008 M. H. Jordan (Temple City, CA United States) We have the 10-cup from Cuisinart, given to us as a gift and are purchasing the 12-cup soon because we've had such a great experience with our 10-cup. I must preface this review that if anyone is qualified enough to review coffee makers, it's my husband. He loves coffee. Loves. With a capital L. His source of life is probably dripping out of that coffee maker right now. We're upgrading to a 12-cup because that's the least amount he needs (and he goes through *several* 12-cup batches a day). This is no exaggeration! Anyway, we've gone through many coffee makers, especially carafes. Many carafes don't have the right pouring spout, so he goes in search of another one that doesn't drip down the side if you don't pour it *just* right. (He's figured out that it has to be a wide lip, not a slim one, just incase anyone cares.) Geez, we've stood in an aisle staring at coffee makers for an hour and a half, comparing this feature with that and this spout with that. It was insane. Another issue was keeping his coffee hot. If he goes through 2 or 3 pots of 12-cups, well, the coffee needs to last at least a few hours. It needs to stay hot and fresh tasting, not burnt. Cuisinart's carafe takes the cake. It keeps the coffee hotter than any other carafe we've used (and we even bought a separate one to POUR coffee from a glass carafe in). You can leave it for not just a few hours, but the entire day! The spout pours slowly, but that's so the coffee doesn't cool down (duh). Plus, it doesn't drip down the side. (We've never had an overflow problem with the 10-cup, and we hope that doesn't happen once we have the 12-cup.)
overflow is a problem on the 10cup version December 16, 2007 John Dennis (Seattle, WA United States) We are going to give up on this one and buy a new coffee pot. This one works well except for the catastrophic overflow problem. You MUST get the basket inserted so that everything clicks. Also you can get overflow if you don't get the top screwed back on just right. You must check that by carefully sighting at carafe level. The top screws on quite nicely in the incorrect way, it is much more difficult to get it right. You need a couple of cups of coffee before you are awake enough to use this coffeemaker. I abhor bad design, especially when the flaws lead to nonrobustness in normal use. This product is badly designed.
poor choice November 9, 2007 L. Fouty This coffee pot worked well for about a month. Then it started taking over 30 minutes to brew, then it wouldn't work at all. Tried cleaning it per the instructions with vinegar, but it didn't help. Will never buy a reconditioned item again.
Great hot coffee! September 16, 2007 Dale M. Stoll (Athens, Ohio) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this coffee maker because I was tired of transferring coffee into a thermal pumper after brewing with our old coffee maker. In addition, our coffee never stayed hot for any period of time before. But now, with the new Cuisinart thermal coffee maker, our coffee is hot for a very long time. I don't have the problems some of the other reviewers have mentioned, although I am very careful to click the basket closed and to maneuver the carafe lid to the proper position. It is easy to use and brews great coffee quickly. The "beep" at the end of the brewing cycle is nice, plus it turns itself off when it is done, too. This is a great feature, I think. It is easy to see how much water to put in, too. There is a little thermometer-like window on the side that has a small red ball in it and it goes up to the level you want when you pour water in. We just love this coffee maker and I would recommend it to anyone. We paid only $89 on sale, which I consider a bargain. It is very tall, so if you have a small space for a coffee maker, you might want to measure before you buy.
