Amazon.com Review Compact and loaded with electronic controls, this 0.5-cubic-foot countertop convection toaster oven/broiler has room to toast four slices, roast a 4-1/2-pound chicken, bake a 9-inch pie, or broil several steaks. Because it circulates hot air, the 1500-watt oven cooks faster and more uniformly than a conventional oven. For easy cleaning, the interior is nonstick and a slide-out tray catches toast crumbs. The exterior is steel painted white. The oven measures 14 inches wide, 9-1/4 inches high, and 17 inches deep, weighs 20-1/2 pounds, and carries a three-year warranty against defects. It comes with a rack that fits in two positions and a baking pan with a broiler insert. For safety, the oven automatically shuts off after 4 hours. A touchpad control panel runs the width of the oven and offers many options, including time and temperature, for all cooking methods. Toasting controls, for example, include buttons for number of items, defrosting, and bagels. Up to seven customized settings can be programmed into the toaster's memory so they can be conveniently recalled. Combining, say, the four-slice option, the defrost option, and the bagel option in the memory allows for defrosting and toasting four frozen bagel halves to a desired shade at the touch of a button without having to reprogram the toaster. --Fred Brack

Best Baked Potatoes November 19, 2008 Blondie I have only had the oven for a few days, but english muffins and toast come out perfectly toasted. I made baked russet potatoes using the convection method. I rubbed them with canola oil and cooked them at 400' for 45 minutes. They were the best I have ever had! Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. I can't wait to try more things.
Great Toaster Oven November 19, 2008 Robert A. Hopkins (Philadelphia Area) After several attempts at buying run-of-the-mill toaster ovens made by Black & Decker, DeLonghi and others, we thought there was no hope of finding a quality toaster oven. After reading the reviews here and elsewhere and checking out Consumer Reports we "gambled" on buying the TOB-175BC. To our surprise, it not only is very well built with solid framework and door, but also has a substantial broiling pan assembly. It makes toast to near perfection and gets to temperature quickly. The controls are intuitive enough that my 8 year has no problem operating it. On the other hand, its numerous features, including convection, may be overkill, but do not detract from the simplicity of design and operation. A great buy.
Great toaster oven! November 18, 2008 Jane Olson Cuisinart TOB-175BC Convection Toaster Oven/Broiler, Brushed Chrome This oven is used most every day, and has proved to be a solid performer. As time passed, I have used pretty much all of the functions of the oven, and learned to customize settings. I have not had a single problem with the oven since the day it arrived.
Best toaster oven.. November 15, 2008 Parront (Greater Los Angeles) Bought this on the gold box special for $109. Had been watching it for sometime. Got it out of the box yesterday. Very well made. Easy to use controls. Bakes at same temperature setting as big oven. Baked bread and got a nice cruchy crust. Very pleased with it.
Great Functions, Doesn't Clean Easily November 11, 2008 E. Olson This unit was a gift to us as a wedding present over 5 years ago. We were immediately impressed by the even heating, precision levels of toasting/baking/broiling, and it's complete replacement of the oven for smaller foods. Some frozen food labels specify that a real oven must be used instead of a toaster oven. While I have found this to be true with most toaster ovens, this one bakes just as well, if not better, than our full-sized electric oven. There's really only been 2 downsides to this oven: 1 - The oven has, over time, lost its "potency" for toasting. While I used to toast a piece of bread at darkness level 3, I find that nowadays, I need it to toast at level 5 to get the same level of toasting. Not a big deal; it just take a bit longer to get my toast 2 - Cleaning is a bear. While there is a dishwasher safe removable tray on the bottom of the oven, to catch all of those crumbs, the glass door on the unit cannot be removed for cleaning. Crumbs get stuck in the crevasse along the base of the door, and the glass itself has brown residue that would be much easier to remove if I could soak the door. Having said that, I would (and probably will) choose this oven all over again.
