5 out of 5 stars Delonghi 7 QT Standmixer   November 30, 2008

This mixer was previously sold under the name Kenwood. We love it, we have had one before which we wore out in 18 yrs of bread baking (4 heavy artisan loaves at a time). I use it to grind hamburger and make sausage. I could not be happier. I have no complaint what so ever, despite heavy use it has performed well. Has a heavier motor that kitchen aid and has not required any attention at all. Love it, truly outstanding quality

This is my first heavy-duty stand mixer. I did a lot of research, reading everything I found on Kitchen-Aids (600), Vikings, and Cuisinart. I originally considered the KAs, but some things about them bothered me, such as the fact that they are no longer manufactured by Hobart, the plastic casing, and so on. After six months living with the Cuisinart, I'm generally happy. I like the sleek compact look, the powerful motor, the timer, the slow start, and the overall quality. The only thing that bothers me is that at some speeds the lid starts vibrating, producing this annoying noise. But I can live with that. Regarding sturdiness, we'll see how it performs down the road. Right now, I would buy it again.

2 out of 5 stars underwhelming   November 22, 2008

I use this mixer primarily for kneading bread. The 1000 watt rating and large bowl imply that it can handle more dough than the large Kitchenaide, however anything more than 1800 grams (4 lbs) of dough just climbs too far up the dough hook (forcing you to frequently stop the machine and scrape it down). It also just wraps this amount of dough around the hook and spins it in the bowl. The bowl itself could handle twice the amount of dough.

Love this Machine! The 1000 Watts gets the job done. While I love my Kitchen Aid Pro5 it is only 475 Watt power, and a 6 was only 575 Watts so I opted for the Cuisinart at 1000Watts instead as the Kitchen Aid doesn't have the ability to do 4 loaves of bread without over heating and shutting down. The Cuisinart does the Job. The Head wobbles a little as it mixes and the fold back top for other uses collects flour dust from the mixing which is a constant clean up problem- wished it closed more solidly so that flour wouldn't get into it. Makes wonderful bread and the price was fabulous. I would highly recommend this for a more serious bread maker since it does 4 loaves in a nice deep bowl so easily. A good buy!

This mixer was purchased to replace a Hamilto Beach 7 Qt. and has proven to be a great choice. We had two hamilton Beach mixer and the old non electronic is still working but the ones they now make are not of equal quality. we had one replaced under warranty and then the replacement also quit. The Cuisinart 70 bc is interchanable with the bowls, beaters, etc that came with the Hamiolton Beach. This mixer is quieter, better built and performs way better than the Hamilton Beach mixers. As for cost we paid about 100.00 less for the cuisinart thus makin it a much better value.
I say buy it with confidence.
