Amazon.com Review
Bake, broil, toast, defrost, and reheat your favorite foods with one sleek machine: this high-performance convection toaster oven from Cuisinart. A commanding presence, the black and brushed-chrome unit delivers precise control and offers numerous cooking methods. Cuisinart's Exact Heat Sensor lets you choose function and temperature, and then rely on the oven to tell you when food is ready. You can also choose to cook with the timer, according to your needs.

The convection option on the oven (which uses a fan to circulate heat for even temperatures and moist results) is great for everything from roast meats to chocolate cake. Conventional baking on this model works just like a full-sized oven, while the broiling feature lets you broil steaks and fish or brown the tops of casseroles. The oven is preprogrammed for simple toasting but accommodates customized settings for lighter or darker results, bagels or English muffins, or four to six slices at a time. The clean, strong structure of the oven is complemented by an easy-to-use control panel, with a clock that doubles as a function display. Helpful extras include a dual-position oven rack, a removable crumb tray, a "Temp Ready" indicator, a detailed instruction/recipe booklet, and comfortable side handles. --Emily Bedard

2 out of 5 stars Not a good buy   October 11, 2008

After one year of use this toaster oven began to deteriorate to the point that we did not want to use it, or have it in our kitchen. The paint along the top edges is chipped and peeling. The small space underneath the glass door became filled with food debris that ran down the glass with steam. The door cannot be removed, so we tried to clean it first with a soft toothbrush and then with a cloth wrapped over a plastic knife. The paint came off. In addition, there are heat cracks along the plastic touch control panel, and the plastic has crumbled around the screws that hold the body together. We have purchased several other Cuisinart appliances (blender, toaster, coffeemaker and food processor). The only one we are satisfied with is the food processor. They should have stuck with their core competency.

5 out of 5 stars Convection toaster oven   October 10, 2008

I bought this little beauty a few weeks ago and have now had the opportunity to use all of its features: broiling, convection baking and convential baking (of course, just plain toasting too). It does an oustanding job on convection baking (chicken, game hens, small leg of lamb, etc.) and broiling (salmon steaks, chicken breasts, etc.). This is now my very favorite small appliance and I absolutely love it! Dinner guests are very impressed too:-) It is small enough so it doesn't take up too much counter space and is very attractive and streamlined looking and easy to clean. You cannot go wrong with this little beauty and its versatility, and it's perfect for a one or two person household.

5 out of 5 stars A little pricey, sure, but it's just such a great freakin' toaster   September 24, 2008

You could definitely buy a cheaper toaster and be happy as a clam. But my aunt has this one and I've loved it for years - well designed, smooth moving doors, great functionality and design of buttons/temp/timing control. Love it. We always had Delonghis growing up and they were good too, but this is better. So if you are feeling a little extravagant, go ahead and get it. If not, you'll still get some great toast (and pizza and baked potatoes)

I purchased this a year ago as a replacement for a black and decker toaster oven that we had owned forever. The TOB-175BC is wonderful and I would wholehearted recommend this product to anyone who is looking for a quality toaster oven. It is simply terrific!

My husband thought this was a little pricey, butI got it anyway. He loves it, and so do I. Toast, rolls and bagels come out perfect. I haven't used the convection oven features yet.
