Product Description WARING FS150 -- The Professional Food Slicer is the perfect solution to the time-consuming task of slicing food by hand. Experts at WARING have taken the best of the traditional deli-style meat slicer and customized it for home use. The heavy-duty coated steel construction is every bit as stable as its commercial counterpart. Designed for safety, convenience and perfect performance
Amazon.com Review Designed for the home kitchen, the Waring Pro food slicer saves you time, labor, and money by evenly and efficiently slicing meats, cheeses, vegetables, and breads. It comes in handy for preparing party platters, sandwich buffets, leftovers, and snacks. It is worthwhile to keep in mind, however, that this machine is not deli-caliber. It is intended for 10-minute intervals of slicing and easy mobility around the kitchen. Outfitted with a 130-watt motor, the slicer features premium coated steel and die-cast aluminum housing. It has an easily adjusted slicing control knob that ranges from 1/32 to 1/2 inch and a balanced 7-1/2-inch undulated stainless-steel blade. Suction-cup feet keep it from skidding or sliding, and a polycarbonate food guide helps you direct slicing safely. The carriage surface is stainless steel. Suggested used include pepperoni, roast beef, apples, potatoes, bread, tomatoes, turkey, and onions. The slicer is UL/CUL approved and comes with a limited 5-year motor warranty from Waring. It measures 17-1/4 by 10-13/16 by 11-1/4 inches and weighs about 15 pounds. --Emily Bedard

Nothing "PRO" about this slicer August 16, 2008 P. Stickney 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Basically, there is nothing "PRO" about this slicer... 1. Continually breaks down when trying to slice meats (the gear inside breaks or strips.... requiring replacement). 2. Many critical parts are made of plastic, including gears, that break when under a load, of something like meat. 3. Will not slice anything larger than 1/2".... for instance a boneless prime rib. 4. No way of sharpening the blade, other than to take it to a professional sharpener, or replace the blade (at over $40 including shipping). 5. Flimsy construction.... Everything wabbles when under a load. 6. Mine is broken "AGAIN" right now... and need to go online to order parts.... and pay outrageous prices for spare parts... that if they were made right in the first place (out of metal), they wouldn't break. 7. When you have a small piece (or end) of cheese or onion or whatever, it's nearly impossible to hold it securely enough with the polycarbonate food holder (included with the slicer) to ever get it sliced properly. 8. Would take it back and get a refund if I weren't over my 30 days of ownership. (guess I could sell it at a garage sale for $7.00.... and lose the other $100 that I paid for it!).... And never buy a Waring product again. 9. Do I need more reasons???
Still Have ALL Our Fingers Too! July 4, 2008 M. Cartwright (Oceanside, California) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
After over 2 years with this, we LOVE it. No matter what we cut, it has been perfect, safe, EASY TO CLEAN! Have not found a single downside. It saves a fortune on food, the food tastes MUCH better, just makes eating more enjoyable.
Great XMAS Gift June 27, 2008 NANA MARY (Arm Pit of America, OK) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Delivered on time. Was shipped as a XMAS Gift and was not damaged. Recipient was pleased and the item works perfectly.
broke twice, can't get replacement parts January 14, 2008 EllieInAz (Arizona) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
This product broke after the second time I used it (the rotary plastic piece inside). I returned it and got a new one, and after the fifth time I used it (the warranty expired) then another plastic piece inside cracked. I ordered the part and have been waiting 6 months. They tell me it's back ordered. What a piece of junk. If you want a deli slicer that works then buy the more expensive ones at the restaurant supply. The Waring has plastic pieces that break and crack.
Excellent food slicer January 12, 2008 Bugsy (Montana) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I gave this food slicer to my husband for Christmas. He has used it for beef and cheese so far. It was far superior to the one he used previously. The blade glided through the food with ease and did not crumble the meat or the cheese, something our old slicer did. He is very pleased with his gift, which also pleases me.
