Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
The feisty onion brings flavor to an array of culinary delights, and more often than not, tears to the cook. This clever Onion Chopper dices onions in one swift motion, minimizing odors and reducing tearing. Handy enclosed container with non-skid feet doubles as a measuring cup and holds up to 2 cups of chopped onions. Includes lid cleaning tool. Dishwasher safe.

Amazon.com Review
Work smarter, not harder with Progressive International's helpful onion chopper. Just slice an onion in two, set half on the stainless-steel blade, then close the hinged plastic lid. Voila! Dice onions without all the mess, odor, or time-consuming cleanup. The reinforced storage container is clear so it's easy to see how much you've chopped, and measurements up to two cups are printed on the sides. The compact tool stands on four round feet that keep it secure on the countertop or table. When the top is closed, the blade is protected and safely away from a busy chef's hands. This chopper stores easily in a drawer and comes with a tool to clean the lid easily. --Kara Karll

4 out of 5 stars Chops Great - A Pain to Clean!   September 6, 2008
J. Kimmel (San Jose, CA USA)
The Progressive Onion Chopper does an excellent job of chopping onions, bell peppers, celery and other veggies evenly and quickly. You can easily chop half a dozen onions in a few minutes, including the prep time of peeling and quartering the onions. The only drawback is the difficulty in cleaning it. It's almost impossible to remove all of those small pieces of produce. However, once it dries, the dried pieces can be easily cleaned off with a toothbrush.

This product is great for chopped salad lovers. I use mine quite often and would be lost without it. It is soooo easy to clean.

5 out of 5 stars proper preparation is essential   August 11, 2008

This is a marvelous product for chopping onions, celery, cucumbers and a few other vegetables. Unfortunately the manufacturer does not give good directions for preparing the food. It is essential that the onion first be sliced, and individual slices put on the chopper grid. Celery should be cut into short lengths that fit the grid. Cucumbers need to be sliced lengthwise and then into short sections, again to fit the grid. The chopping is excellent if the veggies are first prepared this way.
The product is made of plastic, and cannot withstand the force needed to chop large onion halves, so take the time to prepare the vegetables properly and you will be rewarded with neatly diced, small pieces, excellent for tuna and salmon salads, or for chopped vegetable salads, soups or other cooking.

4 out of 5 stars Does the job, Value for Money   August 5, 2008

Good product, Value for the Money. Needs a little extra power to get the job done, but its okay because if the chopper is any further sharp it could be harmful.

5 out of 5 stars I've had mine for months!   July 12, 2008

I LOVE this gadget! I bought this exact one at BBB for $10. Fantastic - IF it breaks I'd buy another in a heartbeat. Very sturdy - you have to press down fairly hard/fast to get the onion through and I've never felt the green part even feel like it wouldn't make it. Potatoes you say? Must try that tomorrow morning!
