4 out of 5 stars very attractive and toasts nicely   March 26, 2008

OK, the slots are a bit small. I cut larger slices in half. I dropped it only one star for the small slots. It serves my needs just fine most of the time, and I'm willing to sacrifice slot size for overall toaster size, so it fits on the storage shelf I have available.

I was surprised at how nice the finish is on the body of the appliance.

2 out of 5 stars Slots not big enough   February 24, 2008

I ordered this one, but ended up returning it. The slots are not wide enough for most "whole grain" type sandwich bread, which tends to have bigger slices. As an example, if you by Milton's bread, sorry, it won't work. The only way you'll get it in is to trim off the edges. Even if you try to put it in with the short side first, it doesn't work that well; too much of the bread sticks out of the top & you end up with an inch or so that is un-toasted. I returned the Krups and got the Breville instead.

I received this as a gift and I can't say enough about it! It has a sleek design that looks great with the rest of my stainless kitchen and the blue LED readout gives it a futuristic and modern look. I like the countdown timer, eliminates the "jack-in-the-box" suprise of other toasters. Very sturdy and rugged feel to it. Highly recommended!

2 out of 5 stars DISAPPOINTING   December 27, 2007

This toaster is a disappointment. A generic piece of oblong sourdough bread does not fit in the toaster compartment. Also, I found at the higher setting that one side toasted at double the rate of the other, leaving the toast uneven.

4 out of 5 stars Good, but not perfect   October 14, 2007

Overall I'm pleased with this toaster but it's not perfect. While it toasts evenly and is easy to use, the slots aren't long enough for some breads I've found. These aren't special breads, but normal loaves from the store. This requires me to lay the slice in length-wise and have about 1 inch stick out of the top (not getting toasted). Bagels can be a very tight fit depending on their size (length and width). English muffins toast perfectly, and are easy to remove. Also, as a nitpick, the buttons for the controls have a cheap feel to them when pressed.
